A white man confronted a black female swimmer at a ritzy California hotels pool on Monday, questioning whether she bathed before taking a dip, according to video of the incident.
The man insisted he was perfectly within his rights to ask such an intrusive question at the Westin Hotel in Pasadena, footage posted Wednesday by the woman, Texas resident Carle Wheeler, showed.

The man, not an employee of the hotel, was being an obnoxious a-hole. Of course, the woman had to make it about race. I have encountered busy bodies like this.

Yup. Me too and it wasn’t about race. Then again, I’m shocked about claims of racism in Pasadena. ;-)

No, the standing rules for swimming pools espc. public ones like a hotel pool, required by city code usually, that all persons shower off before entering the pool. Any person using the pool, regardless of color sex or whatever, has standing to insist that such be done for their own health and welfare, as well as that of others using the pool.
Do you shower before entering someone else’s pool?

If the article is correct (and that’s a big if), then yes, it was about race.

Very plausible the daughter was not wet and showed no sign of having showered, triggering the question.

Regardless, if you are that bothered about other people’s hygiene stay out of public pools. A lot worse things take place in public pools than none showered children swimming.

We were on a Disneyworld theme park bus and some Europeans who had just come from one of the waterparks were on the bus. The smell was horrific. Almost threw up my lunch.
