Two professors argue in a newly published anthology on “feminist nutrition” that “athletic performance” and “longevity” are simply “Western values.”
“Critical Nutrition: Critical and Feminist Perspectives on Bodily Nutrition”—one of 16 chapters in the book Food & Place: A Critical Exploration—was written by Temple University professor Allison Hayes-Conroy and her sister, Jessica Hayes-Conroy, who teaches a “Feminist Health” class at a small college in Upstate New York.

In the chapter, the Hayes-Conroy sisters worry that mainstream nutrition science rests upon elite, white, and educated modes of thinking, and that the values mainstream nutrition promotes are “Western values.”
Calls for healthy eating “remain embedded in contemporary culture and politics,” the Hayes-Conroys assert. “Countless recent studies offer insight into weight loss, longevity, or athletic performance—all predominant Western values.”

Let me guess ... Allison and Jessica are butt-ugly buffalos who get hauled around on a fork lift and weigh their dessert portions on a truck scale.

So what? We are part of Western civilization, last time I checked. And people are free to be fit or not fit.
Now I read this. So it looks like the vegans and and vegetarians and fitness types are going to be at war with SJWs over "western values". I'm surprised they didn't come right out and say "white values".
The irony is that turd world mud people seem mighty interested in getting some of those "western values" and will walk across a burning desert to get to them.

The descent of academia into the depths of intellectual insanity is often driven by identity politics. Identity politics is not an analytical process, in fact it cares not to analyze facts honestly at all. It sees EVERY demographic of society as representing a demographic that is under attack somehow by “the capitalist driven society”. It’s origins are in cultural Marxism, with the purpose of underminning western societies in a divide to conquer approach.
Here is my translation of their point of view:
If a woman is over weight, there is no issue about her health to be analyzed by any facts, she is merely oppressed by western culture because, without critical foundation, it does not think being very fat is healthy.
Those Profs need to check their fat privilege.
