A former cheerleader for Dallas Cowboys sued the team this week, saying that the team mascot made more than she did.
Erica Wilkins filed a suit in U.S. District Court for Northern District of Texas on Tuesday, and alleges that the Cowboys failed to pay her minimum wage and overtime and that she made a quarter of what the mascot made.
Wilkins says the team violated The Equal Pay Act and Fair Labor Standards Act and seeks "other available damages."

You were offered the job at a given rate.
You accepted.
End of story..........................
The future of cheerleading in the Social Justice Football League was sharply limited anyway. There’s no way they’d survive another two years of progressive feminism.
I used to be a collegiate and high school mascot. I’ve been a moose, a bear, and a lion. It was as physically demanding as my wrestling meets. I can see how the dopey Cowboy gets more money, although I hear most of those costumes have built in air conditioning now.
In Texas? 20 lbs of fur over the dude? And you got to wear a nice tiny, airy cheerleader costume on the field?
$15 a game. Ever since they were created. The pathetic stipend was part of the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader publicity. The girls weren’t doing it for the money. They wanted to be Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders because it was such a great thing to be.
I'd hit it.
Agreed.
The crowd doesn’t even see them, the networks won’t show them, nobody hears them - yes, they are becoming more trouble than they are worth.
Incidentally, Tom Landry never wanted them in the first place, saying they are an unnecessary distraction for the players. Seems they are bent on also becoming an albatross around the owners’ neck.
No arguments, Mr. Mason.
If you said anything but that we all would be greatly worried, Laz!
Ive been a moose
Did you bite that guys sister here on FR?
“By the way I doubt Rowdy was asked on many dates from high socioeconomic men.”
As far as we know, he wasn’t.
There is, or was, a certain glamour or prestige to being a cheerleader in the NFL. That’s why they did it, not because of the paycheck.
What’s with all these NFL cheerleader lawsuits recently? And I understand Gloria Allred is involved in at least one of them.
This crazy world gets crazier.
Cheerleaders will be a thing of the past before too long. Not worth the trouble.
I’d hit like Staubach hitting Pearson for a touchdown...Wide Open!
I’d hit it like Clint Longley hit Roger Staubach.
Compete for a job that has low pay, then complain about the pay.
Yowsah!
So, missy, go for the mascot job!
