This thread is a friendly collaborative place for FReepers to analyze information and share opinons. FReepers have a wide variety of reasons for investigating Q Anon content; this is not the appropriate place to criticize or badger those who choose to use some of their time in this manner.

Researchers at University College London developed a new way to measure how memes are made and spread. What they found won’t surprise anyone who’s peered into the darker parts of the internet in the last few years: The most toxic, yet most effectively spread, memes are first shared on two places, the subreddit r/the_donald and 4chan’s “politically incorrect” forum, called /pol/.

The researchers said they studied multiplatform meme ecosystems, with a focus on “fringe and potentially dangerous communities.”

“Considering the increasing relevance of digital information on world events, our study provides a building block for future cultural anthropology work, as well as for building systems to protect against the dissemination of harmful ideologies,” they added.

This couldn’t have happened literally right under their nose, you could have chucked a rock from Whidbey and hit the sub that launched this missile!

One other minor point in all this.

Subs don't launch missiles while surfaced.

Any resident bubbleheads can check me on this, but the missiles (Poseidons, Tomahawks, etc.) get ejected from the sub by a compressed air charge and the rocket motor doesn't get ignited until clear of the water. (Not to mention well clear of the submarine, which would not be in a happy place with a solid fuel rocket going off in or near the hull.)

Any data on water depths around Whidbey? I'd figure that a submerged Ohio boomer would need 200 feet of water for a launch....
