Was he an alcoholic at age 20?

More likely addicted to opiates.

Aha, it’s a PC term for a halfway house.

Sad, it looks like he has had little work in past years.

The dead guy may be one of the kids who hung around with the Goldbergs older son. He was newly added to the show and was in maybe in about 15 shows. Each show for about 75 seconds at best. If that is if I am guessing correctly.

He’d also appeared in several episodes of Nickelodeon comedy “iCarly,” starring opposite Jack Black and Miranda Cosgrove.

imdb.com has him on only 1 episode of "iCarly", unless I am reading the information incorrectly.

so either i have poor cognitive skills or this is poor journalism.

Sober living houses are boarding houses for people in recovery, run by people in recovvery. They work better than an institutional approach because, as the saying goes, you can’t kid a kidder. Usually they are started by someone in the fellowship of AA or NA, but are typically small operations (one or two dwellings, often gender-segregated). They fall under the general idea of long-term treatment, and they have a very good success rate. They are found all over, sometimes in pretty small towns, but definitely in every city in the country (pretty sure, I didn’t actually check every city), there’s even a “chain” called Oxford House.

Isn't “The Goldbergs” one of the current shows that features a pervert “couple”?

I think that one is “Modern Family”, that show is totally unwatchable.

Worked with guy once. He said he attended a Parochial HS in Brooklyn, and lots of kids drank before classes and were essentially alcoholics, including himself.

He said he enlisted in the Navy upon graduation, to sober up, figuring no booze on ships.

It worked for him.

Yup,I think I recall that one but I thought that there was more than one.Not yet,I guess.

But eventually every show will feature every form of depravity known.

It turns out he was Dana’s brother. Dana was Adam’s first girlfriend. I don’t remember him.

/Was he an alcoholic at age 20?

When my son went to Michigan in the mid 1990’s, ‘substance free’ dorm living was available. Though technically, pot was illegal and most freshmen were too young for liquor and cigarettes, UM understood that these activities took place anyway.

The substance free areas were created because young people were coming to college having already suffered from addiction and alcoholism and needed a sober living environment. I went to UM in the mid 1970’s when there were a lot of drugs going on and even I was surprised, as a parent, to see how bad things had gotten for some kids.

My son didn’t have these issues, but chose to live in the substance free space because he didn’t want to be around a bunch of drug/alcohol-addled students and wanted a calm dorm environment. I think my stories of some really bizarre happenings in the dorm due to drunks and people high on LSD may have worried him. : )

So, alcoholic at 20? Apparently. And at 17 and 18 as well.

This has to be Trump’s fault, or, maybe Bush.

Note to parents: Hollyweird is no place for your children, not even for them working there.

No. Nothing like that. It’s pissed me off a couple of times with some anti-Reagan nonsense (it’s set in the ‘80s), but nothing gay at all. It’s a good show that could be great if they didn’t have an adult saying a bleeped swear word to (usually) a child every episode, which is one of their gimmicks.
