That needs to be shown and explained in schools from elementary all the way through college over and over...

Most college kids were only 2-3 years old when this occurred...

My oldest childhood friend was on flight 11. This event was horrible for her family as well as mine.

I’m sorry...I know that was hard...

I was contracting with DoD in DC at the time...It was pretty hectic there also...

Which reminds me of my initial thoughts when I first watched the videos on 911. How does an aluminum can smash through steel and concrete? The wings should have sheared off in large chunks and debris should have been sliding down the side of the building including the epinage from the tail. There should have been massive parts of the plane in the street.

In WW11 when the B17 bomber hit the Empire State Building it was a much sturdier plane and it punched a hole in the building but the bulk of it landed in the street killing people. The Empire State building did not catch fire and it did not call down.

That’s all I’m gonna say about that.

Sorry but your facts are in error.

The only aircraft to crash into the Empire State Building was a B-25 bomber (a medium twin engine aircraft) that crashed into the 78th floor in July 1945 in fog and bad weather - see Wikipedia “Empire State Building Plane Crash”.

According to the same Wikipedia article there was another air plane crash into a New York City skyscraper on May 20, 1946 when a C-54F (a light twin engine transport) crashed into the 58th floor of 40 Wall Street at night and in bad (foggy) weather.

I suspect the difference in damages was due to the heavier weight of the aircrafts and the difference in building techniques.

and the difference between 600 mph and 200 or less??
And the amount of fuel on board — hijackers deliberately wanted a transcontinental large fuel load plane close to take off.

I haven’t forgotten though Congress immediately did. Just like Bush immediately forgot where he was when JFK was assassinated and Soetoro forgot where he was during Benghazi.

Ok it was a B25 bomber. It still broke up and large parts fell in the street.

Have you ever seen the nose cone of a commercial airliner that got hit by a goose in flight? It’s trashed. No airliner is going to penetrate a steel and concrete building without the wings and epinage at the very least shearing off and falling down the side of a building.

The planes were supposed to be doing around 525 mph when they hit the building. The VNE (speed the wings come off) on a 767 at 700 ft is 360 knots. Add to that the acrobatics it took to maneuver the jets into position to hit the tower and you have an aircraft that would have broken apart in flight.

Now believe that some dumazz Muslim with a few hours of instruction on how to take off suddenly morphed into Chuck Yeager and got it right on the first try when 12 seasoned airline pilots didn’t even get close in a simulator.

Then not one but both towers perfectly imploded into their own footprint. This is a miracle that rivals the ascension of Jesus into heaven.

The terrorists took several months of pilot training, and ZERO trained pilots failed to hit the targets. It’s not that hard if you can land one with no instruments under visual flight rules. That claim was bogus.

A building of that size will ALWAYS fall into its footprint. Building demolition experts will tell you the difficulty in bringing down any large building is to bring them down outside their footprint if required to make removal of debris easier. Gravity is usually far stronger a Force than any explosive force they can afford to bring to bear. . . so they try to creatively use those explosives and timing to let gravity cause the building to do something it would NOT naturally do, which is to collapse into its own footprint. Gravity only pulls straight down and it requires a huge force to move a 600,000 ton building in any other vector to get it to fall anywhere else.

As for your B-25 and Empire State Building argument, it’s apples and oranges.

Two entirely different types of buildings and two entirely different types of speed/weight/size of aircraft.

The Empire State Building was a steel post and girder frame and 1 foot thick granite/brick (8" brick, 4" granite) building with a lot of mass in bricks, plus it's of boxes made of massive steel girders that were larger than they really needed to be for a more modern building. The Empire State Building weighs in at 364,000 tons.

The World Trade Center Towers were constructed entirely differently with the floors being truss and girder design hung on the outside curtain wall with the wall being a main load bearing structure, hence the narrow windows as each vertical between the windows acted as the post to transfer weight to the ground. This eliminated all interior columns except for the massive concrete elevator column which was another load-bearing structure to which each floor was supported. Although the buildings were much larger than the Empire State Building, the weight of materials was only 490,000 tons, less than a third more, for more than three times the capacity due to the more efficient construction techniques.

The B-25 Mitchell bomber, with a full load of fuel, crew, and bombs, at maximum overload could weigh only 41,800 pounds and its max speed lightly loaded was 275 MPH. It had a wing span of 67 feet. The night it hit the Empire State Building it was not fully loaded and carried no bombs, so likely was closer to 30,000 to 32,000 pounds. . . and in fog its speed was an estimated 200 to 225 mph.

The Boeing 767 that crashed into the World Trade Towers weighed 300,000 lbs, hit at 590 MPH, and had a wing span of 156 feet.

Calculating for the energy released by the impact, using the lighter weighting and speed for the B-25, we find:

That's 46 times more energy put on each one of the World Trade Tower than was put on the Empire State Building back in 1945, not counting the fuel fire.

Here's a look at the damage that was done back then:

The VNE (speed the wings come off) on a 767 at 700 ft is 360 knots.

Also NOT TRUE. . . as a short visit to Boeing to look at the published specs would show you. 360 knots is only 414 mph. That VNE is an absurd facturd some Internet idiot came up with.

The maximum "safe" Mach rating for the Boeing 767 is 0.80 Mach or about 610 mph. It’s not recommended to fly the plane above 0.8 Mach for extended periods of time, so the idea the wing would come off at 360 knots is pure BOVINE EXCREMENT!

"The maximum Mach number of the 767 is 0.91 (0.05 above the maximum cruise Mach number, which is 0.86), and this corresponds to 523 kts in 11,000 m. Thankfully, certification requirements demand a margin of 20% between the maximum speeds and flutter onset speeds, so flutter might be close, but is still tens of miles per hour away when diving to 510 kts (587 Mph). Remember, to experience flutter you need also to excite the motion first. Here is a good discussion of this topic.

In short, flying a Boeing 767 in 400 m at 510 kts is not recommended, but is entirely possible and most likely even safe when done in calm air and by a calm pilot. It only won't last long, because the engines will not produce enough thrust to maintain that speed. Flying this dive requires guts, but no special skills.

The terrorists were not worried about maintaining the "extended airworthiness" of the airframe; they weren’t going to use it for long.

First my husband not only worked at Boeing building these planes but is a former multi engine pilot who has flown commercial aircraft. He said on his best day he could not have done the acrobatics needed for hitting those towers. The acrobatics alone would have likely post one wing at that altitude. Bill Lear’s (Lear jets) son conducted a simulator experiment with a dozen commercial airline pilots all with 5000 or more hours. None could even come close to hitting those buildings at those airspeeds. Commercial airliners are not built to fly at low altitudes unless configured for landing.

As far as the buildings go many, many experts agree that there is no way that one plane created the conditions to bring down a building like the trade tower in its own footprint. Forget two of them.

Hey I believed all this claptrap for years until I started really thinking about it and speaking with knowledgeable people etc. I couldn’t understand why it was so easy for millions of people to buy into this mass hypnonsis. But maybe it’s because it you don’t buy the story the alternative is just too hard to deal with.
