The 33-year-old O’Neal, who’s struggled with drug addiction for years, is charged with punching or stabbing five men over several days last month in the Venice Beach and Palms neighborhoods.

Police say two men were seriously injured, including one who was stabbed in the face.

Authorities said O’Neal was identified in some of the crimes by distinctive tattoos and his red hair.

O’Neal already pleaded not guilty to a May 8 robbery and other charges, including possessing methamphetamine and heroin.

He’s been jailed for a month.

I always thought O’Neal distracted from “A Bridge Too Far”. Fonda played Roosevelt. Hackman became Sosabowski. Connery played Urquhart. But when O’Neal was on the screen, you saw O’Neal, not General Gavin. He never seemed to get out of himself and into the role.

And how did she become Ryan O’Neal’s son? Posthumous transgenderism?

Ryan O’Neal was a bad husband too. He made a gratuitous, exploitive documentary about Farrah’s illness. Just awful man.

Ryan O’Neal did two good movies: “Barry Lyndon”

...

I read that Kubrick picked O’Neal because his daughters thought he was cute. Kubrick treated actors like meat puppets anyway. He’d make them do scenes over and over again until he liked what he saw.

Didn’t Tatum have issues as well? I know she was married/divorced John McEnroe.

Griffin O’Neal, another of Ryan’s sons, was behind the wheel of a boat when he crashed it resulting in the death of his passenger, Gian-Carlo Coppolla. Yes, Francis Ford’s son. O’Neal was.... under the influence.

A troubled family....

His mother left him a near egg that was generating a minimal $19,000/month.

I could get by very nicely on $19K per month...

Let me watch it again, but now that you mention it — I think you’re probably right. Paired with such heavyweights, he was out of his depth.

I particularly liked Edward Fox as General Horrocks in that. The real still-living Horrocks personally approved the casting.

Isn’t it amazing! Loved it, and the film is so visually gorgeous.
Kubrick is, and always will be, my favorite director (I won’t hold Eyes Wide Shut against him...)

I still have the poster, rolled up and stored in the basement. Couldn’t bring myself to get rid of it.
