Publix was on the receiving end of Hoggs latest stab at fascist activism thanks to the companys previous financial support for Adam Putnam, Floridas agriculture commissioner and a candidate for the GOP nomination for governor who is proud of the support he gets from the National Rifle Association.
In a Twitter post published a week before Fridays demonstrations, Hogg demanded a payment of $1 million from the supermarket chain to make up for its support of Putnam and tried to extort a humiliating promise from Publix to make its politics conform to a teenage liberals demands.
I call on @Publix to donate double the money they gave to Putman to the Stoneman Douglas Victims fund, $1,000,000. And never support an A rated NRA politician again.

While the supermarket chain tried to wiggle its way out of the protests by announcing it would stop all political donations, turning over what would amount to a $1 million extortion payment wasnt going to be in the cards. (Its not like the fund needs money anyway. According to Orlando Weekly, its already collected some $8.7 million.)
This week, Fred Guttenberg, a Hogg ally and the father of 14-year-old Parkland victim Jaime Guttenberg, published a series of Twitter posts recounting how Publix CEO Ted Jones had informed him on Tuesday that the company wasnt going to be victimized by a shakedown scheme.
Jones cited Fridays die-ins at two Florida locations as the reason, according to Gutttenberg. That would make sense to anyone who knows that an extortionist who finds a victim willing to pay will only keep demanding more, but Guttenberg proclaimed that he was shocked.
He had the gall to say to me that because the die in made this so political that he would not be able to come down here to meet with the Parkland kids and families, as a reminder we are customers, and that Publix would not be making any donation to the victims fund, Guttenberg wrote.
Oh to see the die in participants walked all over by someone with the equivalent of Melania’s 6 inch spike high heals.
[He had the gall to say to me]
Did the Mafia do things like this to extract protection money? I think this falls under RICO
“Except that this kid was more of a bystander than an actual victim, having suffered no wounds.”
Didn’t he have to TRAVEL to be anywhere near the actual incident?
In fairness to the guy he quoted, his son was a victim of the shooting, but he is still an idiot for putting alliance behind Hogg.
Bottom line is that it all comes down to the almighty dollar. Good for Publix for not bending over backwards to these clowns.
So Hogg is a the front boy of a Rat protection racket. This cannot be legal
I try to imagine what kind of parents - just over losing their precious children - have time or inclination to bother poor old Publix. Talk about a transference of emotion! These people need shrinks not “social justice”.
“Except that this kid (Hogg) was more of a bystander than an actual victim, having suffered no wounds........”........
I understood that he wasn’t actually at that school at the time of the shooting. So what is it?
I wonder if Hogg Boy is the true spawn of Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton. He’s taken shakedown to a new level.
As Trump would tweet: “Sad.”
Extortion used to be illegal. Is it still?
He was caught in his own lies, claiming he bicycled to school after hearing about the shooting on the radio and then saying he holed up in a closet with a coed to film an interview during the shooting. My personal view is he punked Cruz on many occasions, prodding him into an act of violence. This fits neatly with both of these children’s obvious personality defects.

That’s blatant extortion, use RICO to go after the funds of the national groups funding KKKamera Hogg. It is RACKETEERING and illegal.
Insisting that he be protested for giving money someplace is questionable but a public shakedown demanding payments is the same crime that Al Sharpton used to his own personal profit in the 1980s. Al would THREATEN to protest, get his cash and simply walk away and not cause problems.
Having a Hussein Head FBI dad was the biggest boon.
Extort money from big corporations in return for not publicly boycotting them for being racists.
This kid is in the same extortion racket and yes, that is illegal.
Tie the sob up in a ten year multi million defense of his conduct and extract maximum money along with a lien against him, his support group, and fellow travelers. In war, go for the win, always. Do not disengage and consider that a victory. This sniveling little coward needs be crushed.
I remember when Toyota told Jesse Jackson to take a hike.
“Publix grew a pair. Going there today to support!”
Not me. Camera Hogg still managed to neutralize them as a political player...they gave in on that, and have not double-backed, as far as I can tell.
What they SHOULD have done was something like promise $500k MORE to conservative causes for each time there’s a die-in...then watch the fun.
Im proud of Publix for refusing to pay for HOGGS SUMMER vacation on the backs of higher prices for Floridians.
When VW was being assaulted over the name Toureg (a tribe that owned slaves) the CEO said, “they can kiss my @ss.” And, that was the end of it.
They stood up to a teenager. We’ve got a low bar for what’s considered courage, these days.
