Parliament will vote on Monday over whether to build a 70 km long, 1.5 meter-high fence along Denmarks border with Germany.
The aim of the fence is to stop wild boar spreading the swine flu virus into Denmark, but environmental organizations have expressed doubts as to its effectiveness and concerns over its effect on local wildlife.
The barrier is one of a number of proposals put forward by the Ministry for Food and the Environment aimed at preventing the African swine fever virus from spreading amongst Denmarks large pig population.
A majority consisting of the government and Danish Peoples Party is expected to back the proposal in Mondays vote, but the EU Commission has said that the effects of the fence on local ecosystems should be fully investigated before it is built.

Basically, the wild boar will go along the fence to find roads, and just cross the border on the road path. Some will get hit by cars, and then a whole new truth-commission will have to sort out the truth on dead boars and if the fences are the responsible party to their demise.
Sounds like a wall to keep illegal boars out to me.
Time for an SJW PROTEST!
Carnac the Magnificent: “The swine flu vaccine.”
Ed: “The swine flu vaccine.”
Carnac ( opens envelope ): “Name a cure for which there is no disease.”
Should slow down “migrant” barbarians as well.
Make Germany pay for the wall.
Cheaper, faster, and more effective to place a bounty on wild pigs, and no license required to shoot them.
Make the bounty large enough to make it worth the trouble to go after these VERY nasty hogs.
Burn the carcasses. Too contaminated to use for anything.
Nice try to be EU-compliant, but they’ll just step over it.
The 1918 pandemic was Swine Flu.
Somebody needs to tell whoever invented this pig fence that Feral pigs can climb fences. I’ve seen it during roundups. Pigs get stuck, or find themselves in some type of tight spot and they climb and... are actually quite capable of climbing over. They’re very crafty and they are after all, wild and as wild pigs, they are not your garden-variety sluggish Farm bread breeder lazing around in the mud, wild pigs are on the move and they use their brains, thus making them very skillful in the wild.
