How many people work for the EPA? This is simply an umbrella agency. Totally unnecessary.

That’s not the entire story.

There may be about 2.5 million federal employees, but there are another 6.5 million contractors working in federal positions.

Actually it is kind of humorous to think of a gubmint teat-sucker moving into a private sector job and discovering that your new boss wants you on the job at 8am and expects to see your nose to the grindstone for 4 hours, then lunch, then another full 4 hours at the grindstone again. No political activity, no sleeping, no doing anything that is not job related.

Some will adjust ... most won’t and will try to join or form a union so they can get some sleep on the job.

Total in government is 22,305,000. This includes state and local.

The current US population is 327,829,000.

That means there is one gov employee out of about every 14 people.

That's what it takes to rule you.

A painless way to RIF is a no-replace policy. If a govt worker retires or leaves, that position gets deleted rather than filled with a new hire.

CNSNews.com) - The federal government cut 3,000 jobs in May and federal employment has now dropped by 24,000 since President Donald Trump took office, according to data released today by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

That will do for a starter but we can not quit there.

According to government stats # FED workers was 912,000 in 1939. Today it’s 2,789,000.

https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/CES9091000001

US population 1939 (Wikipedia) 147,500,800 and 2018 327, 830,000 (US census).

So, basically the Fed workers have tripled and the US population has a little bit more than doubled. Even after the New Deal.

The figure looks like natural attrition. Which appears these employees are going off to get their fat pensions and are not being replaced. Trump is telling the Department Managers..... manage.
