Now that I've had time to think about Solo: A Star Wars Story, it's time to rank all 10 live action Star Wars movies worst to best. How would you rank the Star Wars movies?

I agree.
Pretty much, the characters and story of Disney Wars are so lame that I can’t care. Heck, I would sooner take the memes or Boba Fett’s daddy killing Jedi in a Gladiator Arena over the lame overpowered characters with no stakes.
I actually liked the original Stars Wars the best, and then Return of the Jedi.
I thought the scenes where Luke was resisting the Emperor and then the fight scene with Vader were the highlight of the movie.
Some of the story lines of the more recent ones could have been really good, but it seemed that the pointof some of those movies was just to show off the CG skills. If you can wow them with special effects, then it doesnt matter if the story line sucks.
I guess inmy book, thats the appeal of the original three movies, the simplicity of them.
The Ewoks? Don't really care for 'em.
As for the Christmas Special...we do not speak of it. It is a forbidden subject. Suffice it to say that whoever thought that was a good idea needs to fed to the Sarlacc, where they will find a new definition of suffering as they digest in it's belly for 1000 years.
A lot of action, maybe?
Also, a lot of iconic characters got introduced in that movie.
As I remember it, the first movie set things up.
It introduced you to the Star Wars universe, but the second one really took you inside.
Everything after the third was kind of a let-down.
Comment of the day
Star Wars was overall a rather adolescent themed film. Not that this is bad, as adolescent boys were the target audience. As adults, we were impressed with the cinematic and technical aspects of the film and not really looking too deeply into the storyline(s), and there were three distinct lines. First was the good vs evil. The second was boy meets girl. The third was overcoming insurmountable odds to win. Technically, Star Wars was a masterpiece for the time. The story was appropriate for young boys as the target demo. That it has withstood time speaks for its elegant simplicity. The follow-on films were much thinner in the storyline and just a redux of the previous glory.
Phantom Menace was a disaster. When I saw it, my first impression was that Luke was originally supposed to be a teenager, but the part was cast with a 10 year old kid to improve toy sales. Natalie Portman was 18.
The next one has Anakin as a whining, petulant wimp. I could not accept Natalie Portman having ANY interest in him. And they left Anakin's mother to remain a slave? The Jedi couldn't have sent a miserable courier to go free her? And while he's at it, shove a light saber through the belly of the slave trader?
The video games and spinoff material were the best things under the label “Star Wars” that happened at the dawn of the 21st century. Even during the time of those prequel movies, Lucasfilm was making more money selling toys than they were at the Box Office.
