I’m not discussing what’s ideally right or wrong here - but our reality as it exists, and what’s smart or stupid within that context. I wouldn’t have posted or tweeted something like that if I wanted to keep my show. Barr has been around long enough to understand how things are stacked, and she could have foreseen this.

What happens to the show, and its influence, now? She was winning; and this could have been avoided.

Maybe some of the Freepers are right, and she wanted to lose it after all.

Roseanne probably didn’t even know that she had a black father. Most of us think of her as an Iranian muslim spy who looks like somebody threw acid in her face. I didn’t know she had a black father; news to me.

This tweet wasn't bad at all. There have been far worse by David Letterman, who even was involvement of sexual harassment (he admitted it); Kimmel; Jon Stewart; April of CNN; etc.

ABC probably had plans to drop it all along. They just used this as an excuse. No way were they going to allow a show headed by a pro-Trumper. For ABC (and other networks) left-wing political agenda come first.

Freedom of speech doesn’t necessarily protect you from firing if you’ve said or done something that your employer dislikes or finds damaging to business.

I'm sorta thinking that had the show been left on the air, we would quickly discover that the tweet did absolutely nothing to damage the business.
