Even something as American as the Indy 500 has gone with the globalist view.
There should be a rule that if you want to race in the Indy 500 then you have to produce a valid Birth Certificate from one of the 50 United States of America, period!
No Birth Certificate - no race participant.

Yes, of course I am aware that other foreigners have won the Indy 500 but now there are more foreigners than Americans competing.
There are even Englishmen as the technical advisers, etc.
To me it is simply disgusting.
There are new aerodynamic rules this year which result in much less downforce (i.e. less wheel gripping) making control of the vehicles more difficult. That was the cause for so many unexplainable slipouts and crashes this year.
Danica Patrick is to Race Cars what John McCain is to Jet Fighters.
While I like Danica Patrick personally, while she has been a highly successful female racer, had she been Dan Patrick, a man, her racing career would be completely unremarkable and almost nobody would have ever taken any note of him (Dan).
The ONLY reason she has such fame is because she is a relatively attractive woman who seemed to have such potential in racing. It did not take long to realize she was never a racer. She is really great at driving a car fast around a track until you fill it with traffic, and then she is afraid to take the risk passing when needed. Her high finishes were more a matter of her enduring attrition to the rest of the field than any passing she performed during races.
Brand new car that people are still trying to figure out is the top reason all those crashed cars were so loose coming out of turns 2 and 4. The heat was a major contributor, but heat can be compensated for if you know the car well. Having a brand new car really hurt some of the more aggressive drivers. The more cautious drivers just suffered with understeer to live another day. The aggressive drivers pushing for a neutral handing car wound up with too much oversteer on a hot day and crashed out.
I think it is Penske’s 17 team win of the Indy 500.
There is a reason Danica Patrick’s attitude earned her the nickname “The Princess” and “Princess Lapped a Lot”.
Sheez - you could make the same graphic about any driver. They all tear up cars now and then. Lots of drivers race for years and don’t win. Some win more than others. It takes a lot of skill and teamwork and some luck to become a top driver. She gets more flak just because she’s Danica and not Dan, for the same crap everyone else in racing goes through. She’s had to deal with that all along, but she’s fiesty and enjoyed it so what the hell. Nothing wrong with that.
Danica is a marketing Juggernaut. It is like a bad but cute girl pop singer. Everybody likes her sugary sweet cuteness and so they ignore and manage her terrible singing with songs with narrow range, lots of effects, lots of loud music to drown out her singing.
Danica is an attractive woman in an all male sport. All the feminazis go nuts for her even though they had motor racing because it causes global warming and uses oil and rubber. All the girls who want to be men like here.
She is a marketing super power. You don’t need talent when marketing brings people out. The last Indycar race I went to at Sonoma where she ran, fully half the people had a Danica Patrick hat. You would think they had given them away for free or something.
Danica is pure marketing. If she was a fat and ugly woman who raced well, that would not have worked. She would be an also ran.
Will Power is the first Aussie racer to every win the Indy 500. History is made.
Racing competition is meant to bring the best together. Racing doesn’t mean you have to be born in that nation to race there. I don’t think you understand the sport of auto racing.
I like her too. I was sad to see her lose control of her car, but she was probably trying to up her game a little since it was the last time. She also qualified well and had a hotter car than usual.
But the changes they made to the cars seems to have made them a little harder to control. Maybe that levels the race track a bit, but a lot of drivers spun out starting into a turn. (Mostly turn two I believe.) She also told her team that the car was “loose”, I believe a lot of teams made adjustments throughout the race trying to overcome the loose steering aspect of the reduction in air down force from the wings.
What ever her talents, Danica did a lot for racing (from my perspective I liked watching her to see how well she would do.) She seems to be on the conservative side of racing but also ran that car at over 215 mph and stayed in many races. this would have been a good one to stay in, as the track seemed to present more problems than usual.
