Lakemont, PA - Blair County Coroner Patty Ross confirmed late Thursday that a 6-year old boy was killed by a family pit bull. The coroner ruled the boy died of blunt force trauma. The attack occurred at a home on Gesser Avenue. The child attended Baker Elementary School. Logan Township Police continue to investigate. Counselors will be available to help students and staff Friday. The child's name is being withheld out of respect for the family's wishes, reports WTAJ.
Rick Vaughan, a friend of the boy's family, said the boy died after the family dog attacked him just before 6:00 pm. Vaughan told the Altoona Mirror the boy's father was cutting grass when he heard the mother screaming and rushed to find "the dog on the boy." Despite the father's actions to get the dog off the child, "It was already too late," Vaughan said. The dog that killed the boy is dead. The family asked police to remove a second dog from their home, reports the Altoona Mirror.
This breed should be exterminated. It has no useful purpose....................

Gotta love the Dog of Peace®
Pitbulls are just like Muslims.
While they may seem nice and friendly you never know when they’re going to go off and when they do go off they’re deadly.
We do not need either of these threats in a civil society.
How does a dog cause death by “blunt force trauma”?
Poor kid! That is horrifying! Last year, I was renovating an investment property and I left the front door open. I was in the kitchen when a huge pitbull sauntered in. I froze in fear and gently tried to coax her back outside. Luckily, for me, she only attacked me with lots of kisses.
The only thing pit bulls are good for is target practice.
Last week, I went to the curb to get the trash container and roll it back to the house when the neighbor started running towards me yelling, with an empty leash in his hand.
There he was, the pit bull, wagging his whole body and happy to see me. I had never seen that dog before.
He ran directly to me and I just shut my eyes and waited. Luckily, he obeyed his owner and just sniffed my hand. I wasn’t really scared - I just ended up feeling silly (and lucky).
Pit bulls and similar breeds need to be banned and wherever outside or near people, muzzled. One reason I conceal carry is to protect family from these dogs.
Oh well... At least the "family pit bull" killed their own kid and not someone else's kid.
I think you earned your place as a “keyword”.
