Full title: 'I can't afford boxes': Failure to launch millennial, 30, comes up with novel reason for refusing to move out of his parents' home - even after a pizza chain offers him a job - as judge orders him out by June 1.
Michael Rotondo, the 30-year-old man ordered by a judge to move out of his parents' upstate New York home by June 1, said he can't afford moving boxes.

I’ve moved 30 times in my life and never bought a single box......
Ive never paid money for a box either, and weve moved three times in the last seven years.
Maybe the whole thing is a fake ‘money making’ scam, by these folks...for TV shows, magazine stories, etc.
I doubt the parents were asking for this....but he’s certainly going to milk the miles out of it...that’s what he does.
A punch to the gut and a swift kick in the family jewels and throw the bum out. Pile his crap in the front yard and tell him he needs to get to it in 24 hours or it goes up in flames.
Change the locks.
Enforce the Castle Doctrine on all intruders.
Yup. Can see it in the lackadaisical facial expressions!
I do actually find this quite astonishing. The guy has no job, seems to never have had steady, gainful work. Likely minimal education. No future prospects. Lives with his parents. General unkempt appearance. And yet some woman somewhere was attracted to him enough that she willingly procreated with him.
Just wow, talk about low expectations.
Having helped about 100 people move then finally having a company paid professional move, I’m all about buying boxes. The pro’s had three sizes of box and they were loaded by weight and not volume. The movers job was easy, they weren’t making stuff fit in the truck and rarely carried more than 40 or so lbs.
My next move will include new purchased boxes.
My first apartment was filled with those!
I had a platform made out of them for my bed (with plywood board and a mattress on top), multiple shelves made from boxes and boards where I kept my clothes (folded) My kitchen table was a platform made with them with a board on top, and more for seats...
I lived on bananas and potatoes and cheerios with all this, while working full time and paying for college full time
He’s appealing the decision, and suing Best Buy for $300 grand for firing him. He’s just a classic low life looser....making a living by suing and mooching off his parents..lost custody AND visitation with his child. Of course!
They give them away free at the nearest liquor store.
And he wants custody of his son?! Insane.
He argued and whined that his parents stopped providing food for him, along with cutting off his cellphone and laundry privileges. Has a really bad work history.....went to college, but didnt finish his degree (of course!) For 8 years he has lived with his parents! What a looser!
“...Im all about buying boxes.”
Lowe’s sells moving boxes CHEAP! They’re not the mucho heavy duty boxes movers use, but they’re more than adequate. Last time I bought a moving box at Lowe’s...I think “book” boxes were seventy-eight cents. Larger boxes maybe a dollar. Add a six-pack of tape (next to the boxes), and you’re ready to move.
He probably told his folks that - in the end, if they’ll play along - $$ will be had by all.
Sad commentary.
And, you’re right....a SCAM ARTIST.
Maybe that type of artist also qualifies for free 0Care, per SanFranFreakONan’s rules.
I am trying to sell my property in N Nevada. I have already pre-packed alot of items, using “Banker’s Boxes’.
I realized that I have about a dozen or so “Banker’s Boxes” I got when I worked at Universal Studios-—& left there in summer of 1975. Boxes still good.
Also- these boxes can be used over & over if you take them apart carefully & store them flat.
The big advantage of them is that they are all the same size & planning on the location of my items in a rental truck is made much easier.
