In a sometimes-surreal interview with Greek television news channel Antenna, Antonios Pagourtzis, the father of the accused school shooter in Texas said that his son wasnt a criminal, but a victim.
His comment came during a telephone interview that the network broadcast on their newscast in Greece.
Pagourtzis denied any responsibility in his sons murderous rampage that killed ten people in a Texas school, criticizing people who said that there was blood on his guns.
The guns were clean, Pagourtzis said in the interview, adding that he as hurt that a lot of the negative press about him was coming from his homeland, Greece.
But the most shocking statement in the interview was when the grieving father stated categorically that his son wasnt a criminal but, in fact, a victim. He blamed others who may have bothered his son, whom he described as a strong kid.

A victim of “everybody gets a trophy”, and “your a victim of American Success”. I blame the nea.
The father is either in shock and should not be giving any interviews, or deeply in denial and still should not be giving any interviews. He needs a lawyer.
I read an article today saying the shooter had spent the last two months trying to get this girl to date him. Her bereaved mother said the girl was never interested in him and tried to tell him many times. Finally, a few days ago, she told him in very clear terms she did not want to be with him. They happened to be surrounded by other students.
A few days following that public humiliation (that he set himself up for) the boy was running through the school corridors shooting people. This girl was the first person he killed. She was in her Art Class.
Did his father have no idea how weak, brittle and fragile his son’s ego was, that he could not handle rejection any better that this? I get it, that the shooter is 18 or 19, legally an adult. But it takes a while for the psyche to deteriorate to such a state. Did no one in the family see anything since he’s been a teenager?
Schizophrenia, if that’s what it is, often settles in during late adolescence. Is there a mother of the shooter in the picture? I have heard no mention of any mother or other family members just yet.
Sorry, Zorba, but some punks hassling your kid ain’t an excuse for him shooting up the school.
“the guns were clean ...” I clean them myself.
My son just happened to be there.
If he was Black, Muslim, Gay, Illegal Alien or Female then his victimhood would be being debated as we type. He would have a hook to hang.
....but alas he appears to be only a straight, White, Christian cultured, American citizen male.
With “fathers” like these, no wonder these left wing monsters walk around feeling entitled to murder people.
I am thoroughly sick of the blame the gun not my liberal kid mantra
I went to the Greek church and it is a leftist cesspool of nonsense. Aside politics they are very industrious and know how to make money in business, crafts, engineering and the arts, but sadly they are thoroughly brainwashed by one of the most corrupt entitled spoiled clergy I know. And now with the slavic Orthodox priests coming in, that beautiful church has invited some even more trashy mentality.
Sorry. As a father, he failed major. And still doesn’t get it.
How heartbreaking for her family.
Yes, the shooter’s father should STFU. He will probably hear that from a lawyer soon enough.
Most of the most notorious of the mass murderers of recent years were suffering from “affluenza,” with each one of them very special and spoiled rotten.
Too bad they can’t take a horsewhip to this deranged “father”.
The guns were so clean that my son just happened to be there when they went off.
You have a point. The overly aggressive Trayvon was seen as a victim and still is. Even after attacking the adult and bashing his skull repeatedly into the ground, he was the good little boy with his purple drank.
I had a crush on a girl when I was 16. She told me she wasnt interested. Broke my heart mom said get over it. 18 happened all over again. I figured women stink. Ducked the draft and enlisted. 1 1/2 years later fell for another girl. We will have been married 46 years this November. Dads advice was dont marry a girl and that aint interested in what you believe in and make sure one of those things is God. His advice happened when I was 16. I had a dad and mother. Too bad some kids dont.
Not to excuse him, but is English his first language? The “blood on his guns” idiom seems to escape him, and he takes it literally.
I’m not sure he is straight. His cap with the peace sign had a bisexual pride pin on the back of it.
I got turned down a lot in High School. No big deal. Joined the AF and disappeared till my 40th reunion. By then I had been ballroom dancing with my wife for nearly 20 years. When the music started playing, we put on an exhibition. It took me 40 years to become mr popular. We will be married 33 years in June and I loved the comment from several of my female classmates, “At least one of the guys learned how to dance.”
Well, my Daddy said Son you better see the world. I wouldn't blame you if you wanted to leave. But remember one thing thing, don't lose your head, to a woman that'll spend your bread.

Very wise! My own grandmother's advice was: "Long courtships and short engagements".
Long courtships. Yep. My wife and I dated for 6 years.
