Let's face it. A lot of people were already sitting in Starbucks and not buying anything. A few months ago, long before the racism row, I had to kill a few hours in an unfamiliar area. I had my laptop, so I went into a Starbucks and did some work for a couple hours. Didn't buy a damned thing. Didn't pretend to even be interested in buying a damned thing. No one bothered me. In fact, a customer saw me fumbling around with my computer's charging cord and offered me the use of an extension cord. White male privilege, I guess. LOL.
Nonetheless, I think that they're making a foolish mistake to publicize this new 'non-customers are welcome' policy. In many cities with homeless/vagrancy problems, this policy is going to encourage flotsam and jetsam to make Starbucks their own special place.

Yes it would be nice! They’re surely hungry. Come on Starbucks - put your money where your mouth is.

New Starbucks policy: No purchase needed to sit in cafes I'm going you one better, guys.
After 12 years, I will not be visiting in the future.
If I enjoyed living dangerously, I never would have started regular visits to Starbucks in the first place.
Good luck to your bathrooms cleaning crew...

The Lib culture cannot sustain this “no borders” policy. They ruined San Francisco’s streets.
Now Starbucks wants to be a sanctuary city for the homeless.
This will not go over well with regular customer because the “exclusive” appeal will wither away.

"Do they mind if I bring my own coffee?"If you are black, you can probably sell your own coffee out of your new Starbucks booth.

Ho ho ho! That is wonderful. What's the Starcucks manager going to do when Jamal and Leroy present their coupons for free stuff?

Soon there will be two males going in the bathroom at the same time, and staying quite a while.

Screw Starbucks!
This is a true story.
I had to go to San Francisco for a conference at Microsoft’s downtown offices.
I was staying at a hotel just off of Union Square.
The hotel bragged that they had a door inside that went into a Starbucks.
In the morning when I got up, I went thru the door to get some wakeup juice, and the line was stretching OUTSIDE their main door, filled with Millenials getting their morning must-have.
I said, screw this and got a large at the Jack in the Box next store. Fine coffee, and only a buck!
Right across from Microsoft’s main offices, the Kuerig company was having a huge promotion for their new product (this was in October of 2011). All the coffee you wanted with all the fixings. Went on all week.
Again, Ska-rew Starbucks!
I hope all those street-sh1tt1ng, pull-it-out-and-wiz-right-there-in-front-of-everybody, smelly homeless make Starbucks that their home!

Im thrilled all those moms who stop in before dropping their privileged brats off at their private schools will stop clogging up shopping centers in the morning.
