Had some time to kill before going to bed. Watched a Steven Seagal movie on Netflix. I cant even remember the name. Say what you want about his acting skills (love the graphic of him showing different emotions - and its all the same picture, and he plays the same character in every movie) but hes a financial genius. He puts out one really bad movie a year that goes straight to DVD and/or Netflix and makes him 10 million bucks, then he sits on the porch of his mansion with his beautiful wife thinking about the next movie. You have to respect that.
He doesn’t have to run. Only in movies. He forgot how.
I like his fighting style.
Always fascinated me that in most of his movies he beats up bums who could not possibly challenge him. Even fat guys, old guys, - and even a blind guy! Odd but fun to watch.
I love that fight scene. The best one IMHO.
Steven Seagal speaks fluent Japanese. With his kids, too.
On Japanese sometimes they get unintentionally insulting and provide him with an interpreter, which he absolutely does not need. Really insulting.
He went over there and in order to get into his first dojo (in Hiroshima) he had to live in a DOG HOUSE for a week.
“We don’t have room for a new member, but we do have room for a DOG...?”
“Uh....Okay...”
And he did it.
I’m serious.
Watch some Dolph Lundgren flicks. Dolph is actually a smart guy.
Seagal flicks are a guilty pleasure of mine ;’}
StevenSeagulls do a great cover of Dio’s Holy Diver.
He is a 7-th degree dan in Aikido. The dan degrees are coming on the top of the black belt.
He would be a good choice to play Lee Child’s Jack Reacher. How anyone could have cast Cruise as Reacher is just beyond me.
Right, the legs are good but Seagal has a lot more arm action going on than Fred and Barney. He runs with the desperate violence and awkwardness of a woman who has just discovered a nest of rats in the closet.
Freegards
Rumor has it in intelligence that he was a CIA hit man for awhile. Have no idea if that is true or not. Stranger things (cough ... Chuck Barris) have happened.
One of the best band names, ever, as well.
I actually like their cover of “You Shook Me All Night Long” better than “Thunderstruck”, but that’s also how I rank the songs in general. :^)
He also runs head forward like a toddler about to make an uh-oh and hit the floor. Heavy head I guess.
Holy Flintstones, Batman!
