24 was the first drama to get a revival treatment in the form of a limited series with the 2014 24: Live Another Day. It was followed by NBCs Heroes Reborn and Foxs Prison Break and The X-Files.
During Foxs upfront press call, chairman Dana Walden revealed that 24 executive producer Howard Gordon is working with 24 creators Joel Surnow and Bob Cochran on a possible new iteration of the real-time drama. The network and 24 producers 20th Century Fox, Imagine TV and Gordon had been discussing new ideas for a 24 series since the end of 24: Legacy last season, including a female-led legal thriller earlier this season. Walden would not elaborate what the new premiere is, but noted that we are very excited about where the show would go.

It only failed because they made the lead some random black dude instead of a non-binary transgender lesbian with blue hair. More gayness was required.
If course. :D Maybe Rosie O’Donnell can star.
And Chloe
24 hours non-stop and they never took a bathroom break or a meal!
The new X files was lame...
Both Scully and Mulder characters just dailed it in.

They lost me as a viewer when Jack started being able to shoot out hanging door locks at 20 yards on the run shooting one handed...
I mean who can’t do that / S
Yep
“Jack started being able to shoot out hanging door locks at 20 yards on the run shooting one handed...”
I’m willing to suspend disbelief when the story is good and the story is loaded with scenes that make liberals scream for safe places. The problem with 24 is that the stories weren’t good anymore and the show was becoming a liberal safe space.
If they’re going to do another 24 with Kiefer Sutherland, they need to kill of Jack Bauer once and for all ... make it an epic death with a clear passing of the baton to whomever inherits it. So long as that character is alive, I don’t think they’ll be able to use the 24 brand any other character. They also have to drop any pretense of SJW crap, make the female leads hot, and not try so hard for plot twists since they became far too predictable in later seasons.
Ground detonated nuke with EMP strong enough to kill a chopper, but did not hurt the vision of the multitude, including Jack, looking at the blast.
It started out with LA teenagers in vans, but at its height, it was in DC with office politics and moles in high places.
That 24 re-boot was absolutely dreadful.
We binge-watched ‘24’ over this past winter - all 8 seasons. It was a lot of fun, actually. We still miss that evil Sherry Palmer and chuckle every time we see ‘The President’ doing State Farm Insurance commercials. Keifer really did an excellent job and never QUITE became a parody of himself. I CRINGED every time they brought ‘Tony’ back from the dead. Could not STAND his wooden, smoldering Bad Boy, ‘acting.’
*Rolleyes*
And poor Audrey! Probably still in a coma, wasting away in a bed in her Dad’s living room. *SNIF*
As for ‘X-Files?’ Glad they’re dropping it - get Gillian in a fresh suit, lipstick & heels and put her back to work on, ‘The Fall.’ Man, that was excellent!
There are plenty of Psycho Bad Guys out there for her to chase!
We also loved, ‘Justified’ and can’t get enough of, ‘Longmire.’
I was really surprised that Chloe made it all the way to the end. She was annoying as h#ll, even after they tried to soften her up with a husband and kid.
But, she was Jack’s one true ally through it all and she did have awesome computer hacking skills. ;)
Jack did eat a meal once. I remember he was pretty grumpy while he ate it. He was sitting in a interrogation room I believe. But never saw anyone take a bathroom break.
The bad guys always had 23 different contingency plans. If only they would have thought about a 24th, they would have gotten away with it.
I thought Chloe was the best character on that series.........
Me too.
I thought the Tony character got a bum deal though.
24 is DOA. It was nice while it lasted, but that ship has sailed.
