CARTER COUNTY, Okla. -- Officials said a woman was attacked and killed by a neighbor's dogs on Thursday night.
Carter County Sheriff Chris Bryant said the victim -- whose name has not yet been released -- was attacked by seven dogs and later died from her injuries.
Bryant said the incident happened before 10 p.m. at a residence just east of Ardmore on Banyon Road. He said one of the dogs was a pit bull; the others were medium-sized dogs of other breeds, all with the same owner.
"Once we were notified that this female had succumbed to her injuries, the owner of the dogs decided to put the dogs down," Sheriff Bryant said.
There have been no arrests. Bryant said he believes the victim lived in the area of the attack.
"It's really scary because my kids play out here all the time," one neighbor told KTEN. "Even if I'm out here with them, it's just scary having dogs roaming around attacking people."
There is no "leash law" in unincorporated areas of Carter County.
"Most municipalities do, but the county does not," Sheriff Bryant said. "Just be aware your your surroundings and if you have any issues with livestock or animals or anything like that, please give us a call."

Why the heck hasn’t the owner been arrested on a manslaughter charge???
“...if you have any issues with livestock or animals or anything like that, please give us a call.”
Yeah, I’ll be giving you a call whilst 7 dogs rip my lungs out, sure, that’s the ticket!
If a person has dogs they have an obligation to confine them to their own property and control them. If they dont understand that or will not the animals need to be put down.
I dont like laws but they are necessary in the absence of respect for others.
Thank you for all your postings. This is a problem that needs to be highlighted continuously and in every way you can. Thanks.
“Like, I don’t get it. It was so weird. He never did that before. Weird.”
Because there are so many articles about pit bulls.
Not fair to punish those with dogs in rural areas who do not cause a problem. GET RID OF THE PIT BULLS.
Any dog anywhere that is not on its owner’s property is a nuisance to others.
Ah. I understand. The map here:

will show the attacks and deaths by year and month.
This approach, or something similar - the same that one uses against a bully - appears to be effective in a number of cases. Since so many pit bull “apologists” usually act in the manner of bullies — intimidation by fear, insults, and threats — of the first order, it is important, nay essential, to stand up to them.
This approach or similar ones is not without its risks, but I am becoming more and more convinced that it is necessary.
That must have been quite horrible for her. They all look like pit bulls or pit bull mixes.
Consider the situation:

This occurred on Thursday, May 10. As of this posting, neither the victim nor the dogs’ owner, a “neighbor”, have been disclosed by the sheriff’s office or the news media. An autopsy has been scheduled. I looked at one of the news vids, and I believe that the neighborhood know the people involved. This is a rural area.
I could see some of them as pitbull/weiner dog mixes.

What an absolutely horrid way to go.
Fair enough.
if his dogs hurt or killed my dog or myself, I would do the same to him
Kill the owner. Now.
fallacy? lol. I think I worded it the same would happen to him...yes if I was dead I could not fix him.. it worked and he didn’t care to find out if I was bluffing or not-
