Nice cars. But let’s do something more unusual than ‘55/’57 Chevy BelAir, ‘65 Mustang or ‘62 Corvette.
Besides, “classic” means 1928-1942! Cool ‘30s cars.

Re: Some years ago I used to pass by a garage that had a '67 Pontiac Bonneville hearse out in front. They apparently were trying to restore it to its earlier street rod condition. Had Cragers on it.

It looked something like this, but beatup up and painted flat black.

The real break in styling was the ‘49 Ford.
My mom’s family got one (for the boys). She still gushes over that little car. And how different it was from her childhood in the ‘40s.

The real break in styling was the 49 Ford.I loved American car styles from day one to sometime around the '80s. After that, we fell off a cliff. And not just with cars, but with damn near everything regarding our once great culture. Music, movies, tv shows, cartoons, comics, clothes, foods, drinks (egg creams, malteds, etc)...

My Aunt Lou had one. Grey. First car she ever owned. Bought it after she retired and took driving lessons.
We called it the Mouse.

Oh I love old (American) cars, as you can already see.
I think MOST things were ruined by the ‘60s. Everything (and yes, I mean about everything, even horse-racing and German Shepherds) went south after the ‘60s got through with them.
Still many good things, even great, but the ‘60s hippie culture ruined everything as a whole, most especially the politics for good.

Cool song; I also remember Alan Jackson’s “Crazy ‘bout a Mercury”, and that c.1952 black flathead V8.

My favorite shoe box and that a beautiful example. Though I prefer a high P.O. street version. GM and Ford could really sell some cars by manufacturing their timeless models again.

My first Car was a 55 Chevy two door 210 Station Wagon.
265 V-8 with a Powerglide. Cost me $100 because I had to put anew front end on it.
Found one for $35 (Hood, Fenders, Grill with Hood Ornament) and the guy took $25. Then I had to save enough Money up to repaint the Car that was now two colors, red and Yellow. Yuck.
I miss that Car...
