Can I have one? LOL! Yeah, miss my ‘69 “ordered” from Luke Motors in New Orleans in Oct ‘68 Road Runner. Just a typical post car with a 383 4 speed with fresh air pkg. Red with black hood stripes. Last seen in gulf coast area of MS. Lower quarters and back glass rusting big time. Sigh!

The new ones are great. The 70s versions were mechanically fragile POS. Had the misfortune of owning a 1974 Plymouth Duster and a 1975 Dodge Coronet. Always breaking down, but on the bright side how I learned how to work on cars.

Once Diamler entered the picture, it was over for Chrysler (at least for me). At least as far as styling is concerned, IMO, it's been over for most cars since around the early 80s, the 2000s retro Mustangs being about the only exception. Challengers not too bad either. They're a bit too 'stocky', though. The original (on right) was more sleek and thin. Liked it much better.

My wife’s cousin bought a brand new ‘68 Roadrunner (”beep, beep”). We were playing football on the front lawn when I threw a pass to my brother-in-law. He caught it and stumbled into to right front fender of the Roadrunner, crushing it like a beer can.....
The car was parked in the same spot where some neighborhood kid put a baseball through the windshield of my ‘58 Corvette.

My biggest issue with Chrysler muscle cars of that era is that they were unattractive cars compared to the Ford and GM offerings. Nicer looking than the AMCs of that era but then that's putting the bar pretty low.
Matter of taste, I guess. Those Chrysler cars were fast though - I'll give them that.

Great looking car, one of a kind roofline. Had a friend who had a 440.

Speaking of Ford, my favorite was the 67 Fastback...

Nope. I was only 16-18 when I had those vehicles. The Dodge Monaco was a former police vehicle, though.

Diamler did more to save Chryslers butt than any other merger or acquisition.
Their current collaboration with Fiat is what is a true pity, a true shame.

Absolutely. We really fell off a cliff in that in many other ways over the past 30 or so years.

The 70s versions were mechanically fragile POS.In my neck of the woods, the Mopars up to about 1972 were the preferred cars of the local dirtheads and stoners because they could be pounded on longer without major repairs. After '72, that quality began to fade.
IIRC, the last vestige of the Mopar muscle days ended up being the relatively few 360 4V '76 Dusters that could still get out of their own way.
To: Ikeon
What’s interesting is that MOPAR commands the big bucks on the vintage market nowadays. Correct me if I’m wrong but I think you’ll pay more for a Challenger or Charger than you will for a Camaro or Chevelle.
The thing about Dodge/Chrysler/Plymouth is they had a slight ugliness that makes them distinctive and cool — at least in retrospect.
