He's skipped only 8 days since 1972? He must not get sick very often.

If McDonald’s would go back to 70s era making Big Macs and fries, I would partake of them once in a while.

Years ago a friend of mine liked to show off by stuffing two Big Macs in his mouth at once - his other favorite sandwich was Spam and strawberry jam on Wonder Bread.

A friend of mine used to feed Big Macs to his Great Dane. He would throw the whole sandwich in the air and gulp — down the hatch.

Good for him! I know a lot of Freepers knock McDonald’s, but sometimes I get a hankering for a Big Mac and nothing else will do. That’s only once a month or so, not like the subject of this post.

Some McD’s are selling “Grand Big Mac” which is basically a Big Mac made with Quarter Pound patties. 860 calories of sloppy, gooey greatness.

I grew up with Harvey’s being my favourite, here in the Great White North. Maybe it’s just (young) mid age talking, but the fries in particular were much better back in the day. I prefer being able to choose what’s on my hamburger, so that’s why that place is still my choice on the rare occasion I want fast food.

And I’m approaching my 40,000th thread here at Free Republic. For the record I prefer the Quarter Pounder, though I’ve had my share of Big Macs. If they went back to frying the French fries in beef tallow you couldn’t find a seat in a McDonald’s. The older people here know what I mean.

I read that McDonalds is going to switch over to fresh, not frozen, meat over the next couple of years. I’m excited. I think they will improve.
