A man was arrested in Dunfermline, Scotland, on Saturday for carrying a potato peeler in a public place “without reasonable excuse” and faces up to four years in prison. The Dunfermline Sheriff Court confirmed to Breitbart London that Scott Walker, 39, of the James Bank Hostel, James Street had appeared Monday, charged under the Criminal Law (Consolidation) (Scotland) Act 1995, for carrying “an article which had a blade or which was sharply pointed, namely a potato peeler”.

Well, I know at least since the ‘80s, Scots were whipped up to bitterly hate the Thatcher Administration over her policies and blamed her for causing willful damage to them (ending government subsidies of failing industries there, such as mining and her altering of local taxes from property ones to a flat poll tax was cited as a very unpopular action). She also opposed Scottish devolution (which actually would’ve benefitted her party).
The Tories were toxic for decades as a result. I believe for 30 years, not a single MP was elected. It did make some gains in recent years, though.

I do not proclaim myself to be an expert on this subject, just giving a bit of a generalization on what occurred here. Curiously, I appear to be related to the former Scots Tory leader from 2005-11, who would be a cousin a few times removed.

Cutting Weapon. Any knife or other cutting instrument which can be used as a weapon that has a cutting edge similar to that of a knife. No tool or instrument commonly or ordinarily used in a trade, profession or calling shall be considered a cutting weapon while actually being used in the active exercise of that trade, profession or calling.
(2) Prohibited Conduct. No person shall use or possess any cutting weapon upon the public streets or upon any public property at any time.

What does "devolution" mean? Scotland becoming more independent of the UK? Do you mean Thatcher's party would have been better off if the Scots were more independent and thus not dragging UK elections to the Left?
Sorry if these questions are dumb. I'm just trying to understand how these thing happen.
Reminds me of that joke about a guy at the beach who asked his friends to help him pick up girls at the beach.
