The weather in France has been very varied in recent weeks, but nobody could have expected snow on April 30th.
Many residents of the northern French region of Normandy woke up on Monday to find a considerable layer of snowfall on their rooftops and cars.
The mercury dropped to around zero in many parts of the historical region, with the departments of Eure and Seine-Maritime registering the lowest temperatures.
In the city of Rouen, the wind chill made it feel like a frosty 5°C in the early hours of the morning.
It may have only been a couple of centimeters of snow on average, but flabbergasted residents have taken to social media to share their best pictures and video of the surprise snowfall.

Well, that just PROVES global warming! (sarc)
On the bonnie bonnie banks of Loch Lomond.
The day we stopped to view Loch Lomond, it was encased in a deep fog. When we got to Cornwall, the view of St. Michael’s Mount was also obscured by fog.
Global warming is a hoax.
The media and scientists have been screaming global warming for 40 years. There’s been no warming.
The Sun’s solar cycle controls the climate not anything man made.
If they had this kind of weather back during D-Day, June 6, 1944, they would have had to land the 10th Mountain Division at Normandy.
What a cool post. Thanks :)

Hey, NJ. :)
I’m on Staten Island.
Those three bridges to NJ cost a bundle when I see my sisters!
Cornwall and the Highlands — Celtic territory.
One of those DNA testing ancestry websites has “Irish, Scottish, and Welsh” as a single category, but I have to think the DNA is different between Highlands and Lowlands Scotland. You could validly lump the Highlands with Ireland, but I’d think the Lowlands would be more like “English” (one of the other categories).
You may be right, and Nordic DNA in all those areas I’d bet.
For the record, I only found the one report for the former, and that was by searching during the last 24 hours:

45 mins ago - April 2018 is in the bag. Lower 48 temperatures were anomalously cold across much of the central & eastern USA. Monthly temp of 48.5°F is more than 3°F below the last 30-years average. Coolest April since 1997 (47.5°F) and almost 5°F cooler than last year (53.2°F).pic.twitter.com/JL8faZuVSS. 8:41 AM - 1 May 2018.
