My Stab At a Haiku Re What I See Happening In My State--Laughing OK, but Don't Flame Me, Please!
Posted on 04/27/2018 11:42:45 AM PDT by Be Careful
My Haiku Entitled "Blue Exodus"...See Below----Comments: .I see that the people from Blue States are fleeing like the rats they are, only to bring their world view and voting habits to infect my state like cancer cells that will soon overtake our voting base that has created and maintained this "great place to move' . They want to escape living with the consequences of their own sick world view....and, they cannot even connect the dots. Between these infected, wealthy retirees and the wave of indoctrinated kids graduating from the local high school over the next few years, I fear that we will be overtaken by the sheer arithmetic of the blue voting population...so here is my stab at how I feel about this.....Everybody loves a haiku, right?

She lived with her Dad in a palace.

Precisely why I left Colorado back in the early to mid 80’s. It was like an invasion of moving vans coming in every day, bringing in disgruntled Kalifornikians and political “baggage”, which we can plainly see, has ruin a one great place to live.

Too many syllables to be a haiku.

Yeah, after I posted I realized the middle line was 8 syllables not 7. Your edit works.

LOL, how on earth can we as Westerners write bad haiku???
This has always been a puzzle to me. All we have to do is get the pentameter right, somehow make it make sense using whatever twisted logic we use, and voila!
Haiku!

I have written Haiku before as an occasional joke, but I much prefer the Limerick!
Especially the Bawdy ones, which it seems to lend itself to!

Haiku’s need to be 5/7/5 syllables. “New hosts” would work.
(mine was wrong too)
