(KTRK/CNN) -- A Houston father said it was his duty to turn his son in to police for bragging about the crimes he allegedly committed.
Christian Daniels, 18, told his father via a FaceTime call that he burglarized hundreds of cars in one week, according to court documents. The father, T. Daniels, told KTRK his son even admitted to stealing an officers firearm.
"He pulled paperwork out of the bag, and I said, 'What does that paperwork say?' And he put the camera closer to the paperwork and it said Houston Police Department, said Daniels. That really kind of ticked me off for him to even have a gun, and then you're going to steal one from a police officer, at that.

Lol, That goes double for me!
If a loved one openly bragged about his criminal activity, that means that I have failed as a parent or uncle.
And I don’t want to fail.
And the above failure is years in the making, not a spontaneous spark of “Hey, Ima gonna break into 200 cars”.
So yes, I’d turn them in, because it would mean they ignored my guidance, and are thus dead to me.
Yep, sometimes it calls for tough love.

“... I turned 21 in prison doing life without parole.”
We had one of those. Turned out to be a barracks thief.
A soap in sock party cleaned up his act real quick.
