Prince's heirs are suing Walgreens and the Illinois hospital that treated him after he suffered a drug overdose just a week before he died.
Prince was 57 when he was found in an elevator at his Paisley Park estate on April 21, 2016. He died from an accidental overdose of the powerful synthetic opioid fentanyl.
About a week earlier, his plane made an emergency stop in Moline, Illinois, when he suffered from an opioid overdose and had to be revived by paramedics...

The hospital saved his life with Narcan. He refused hospitalization and died a week later after another overdose. Now the hospital and physicians are getting sued.
I hope to see the text of this lawsuit. Please post a link if you find it.
I believe that Prince died without a will. His family's actions are disgraceful.

I worked for 20+ years in a big city ER.I've seen more ODs than most of us have had hot meals.Junkies are almost universally the biggest pigs you can imagine. They come in essentially dead and you save their lives with Narcan and respiratory support.Ten minutes later they're cursing you, pulling out their IVs and storming out.
If I was on the jury I would, knowing what I know, vote "not one red penny for this junkie's heirs".

I work in a hospital and yep, so true.
was thinking of the fact that these guys do drugs in big doses but when they o.d. it’s supposed to be everyone rush in and save them! It’s all someone else’s fault.
But the left has no problem berating anyone for putting on weight eating a cheeseburger or whatever else is on their no no list of food this week.

Thank you for speaking the truth with experience to back it up. I've always believed junkies and alcoholics were selfish pigs. Narcan is the worst thing to happen to a junkie. save it for accidental overdoses.. someone who didn't take the drug on purpose.

There has been a recent change whereby society (read, “politicians, media, entertainment”) have developed a message for drug addicts that it’s not their fault, that someone else is to blame, and that “treatment” with other people’s money is our main priority.
This, of course, has made the situation radically worse, as any thinking person would expect.

I believe that Prince’s net worth was more than $150M — which obviously is barely enough to make ends meet. So, of course, his heirs need to sue some people and get some more dough. Gotta pay the rent, you know.

The junkie was sick in little Moline .
I know why with the jury pool there dumber than ants in that Hell Hole.

I remember reading shortly after his death that when he was in Moline the hospital didn’t have a private room for him so his managers/entourage wouldn’t agree to let him stay even though the doctors said he needed to remain in the hospital.

When addictions were re-labeled diseases decades ago, the responsibility of bad choices vanisged. Go figure.
To: rdl6989
I remember reading that also. They couldn’t promise him a private room. His entourage knew that he was addicted.

So the hospital gets sued, a big settlement happens, policy changes are made, and those truly in pain find it impossible to access the medications they need. Rinse, repeat thanks to some junkies.

This point of the gross self centeredness of druggies needs to be made over and over on the pro weed threads.

Actor John Ritter’s family did the same. He had heart problems, was looking ill for a while and then had a aorta break while at work. He was rushed to the nearby hospital and they knew nothing of his condition. He was dead right away (my father died same condition). The doctor was sued, basically for doing tests to determine the problem. They thought he did not treat him fast enough
Ritter had years to treat the problem as his father also had heart problems.

At what point does loving your neighbor become self detrimental? I don't believe in giving everything you have to save your neighbor from himself. Eventually at one point a junkie will take you with him down the toilet. Then what good are you to anybody else who really needs and wants help? Save yourself first , if that means walking away from a bad situation , so be it. Even Jesus at one point shook the dirt from he feet and walked away from a town that rejected him outright. Selfish and pig go together. Its not a literal description.
