14 months ago I got a little lab puppy. Last summer at a dog park a lady brought her pit bull to the park. I always stayed close to my lab to make sure he was OK. For no reason, the pit bull started to growl and I could see he was about to attack. So I picked my puppy up and spun around to put myself between the pit bull and my puppy. The thing came around and jumped up to attack FIVE TIMES finally biting my puppy on the paw and drawing blood. Others quickly hustled the pit away. I was Irate and started to go after the pit bull, but needed to take care of my little guy and while doing so the lady hustled the pit bull out of the park and away.
Another time at another park a lady brought her pit bull in and it went after my puppy with no provocation. She pulled it away but it broke loose and went after him again. I then jumped on it, got my hands around its throat with all my weight pinning it to the ground and I dug my thumbs so deep into its throat it screamed in pain. I then allowed the lady to put its leash on and take it away. I later learned that dog has a history of being a problem and has attacked other dogs with no provocation.
This is what motivated me more than anything else to take the class and get my ccw which I should have in a couple months. If anything like that were to happen again, I will pull out my gun and simply empty the entire magazine into the pit bull. I will. Not. Stop. And not one jury in this country would convict me of anything given pits reputation. For that reason, I doubt any DA would even charge me with anything.
One of my dogs good buddies is a pit bull so its not all of them, but of the real aggressive problem dogs, pit bulls make up a large percentage. Im very leery of them until I know the dog well.
“Last summer at a dog park ....”
First mistake.
“I doubt any DA would even charge me with anything.”
You might not want to be overly optimistic on that score. Many DAs are barking moonbats from Planet Commie Scumbag.
