Since people do post plenty of images on FR, why wouldn’t this work? I am a tech tard, but still I don’t know why we can’t post images here when we can, even if said images are hosted at other sites.
I think the main reason is bandwidth.
It takes a LOT more bandwidth (and therefore a lot more $$$) to host an image. By using external links we keep our costs down.
Anyone else want to weigh in on this and correct me if I’m wrong?
It’s the *source* of the images: for example posting Getty Images is forbidden for legal reasons, 8chan is a No-No because that site *also* has a lot of slime.
