FULL TITLE: Texas teacher reveals how 'rude parents, disruptive children and poor pay' have forced her to quit her job in viral post - as she shares photos of classroom items 'destroyed' by her students
A teacher has slammed her 'disruptive' students and their 'rude' parents over their lack of respect for her 'poorly paid' profession in a Facebook rant that's gone viral.
Julie Marburger, who works at the Rockwall Independent School District in Texas, said she had been pushed to quit her role as she feels as though she has 'no way to do the job I was hired to do... teach kids.'
Along with her status, which has had 322,000 likes and more than 400,000 shares, she posted images of her messy classroom, showing broken shelves, books and even an iPad, explaining that many of the items destroyed by the children were paid for out of her own pocket as she has no budget.
Julie from Utah, who teaches students aged 11-12, revealed she had been pushed to the brink of quitting that day by a 'disrespectful' parent who shouted at her in her classroom for holding her son to account.
In the post, she wrote: 'I left work early today after an incident with a parent left me unable emotionally to continue for the day.

Do you really blame her?
arth ping
I’ll predict career burnout being the big deal in five years as 35-year old teachers just get a doctor’s note and go on some one-year sabbatical. Most are just baby-sitters now for immature kids.
Was she a member of the NEA?
If she is a good teacher, there are private schools and academies which will hire her.
There are options. if she was a government flunky only filling out her days till retirement, then you might have a little harder time finding different employment.
There should be video cameras inside EVERY classroom...............................
Interesting. Rockwall has been growing really fast with lots of money. Its not Dallas ISD which is really effed up.
For my wife and me, public schools are a 19th century paradigm that outlived its usefulness at the beginning of the 21st century.
Just as my office used to have secretaries, but now we all know MS Word, the internet has brought both dons of materials and full curriculum to homeschooling parents as well as incredible sites like khanacademy.com.
Of course, it can’t replace the main reason so many people want to keep public schools: Free daycare through age 18.
So, here we are...
Liberal “chickens coming home to roost?”
Leftist school boards and "progressive" public school "administrators" are the root cause of most of the problems in our schools.
My sympathies go out to her, NEA or not. No discipline and no desire to enforce rules by school administrators. Hope she finds a good spot in a charter or private school.
having said that, when I was a kid, you never ever disrespected the teacher nor the school...
it was drilled into us not to damage the desks, or waste paper, or walk on the gym floor with your regular shoes on....
if you managed to get yourself in trouble with the teacher, you knew darn well that your parents would take her side..
society has totally become unhinged..
I know everyone says how wonderful things are for teachers which is crap. I suppose if you are at 30-years and a rich school district where parents care, you are great. But southern states that are poor! Florida starts their teachers at 37K. After federal taxes, medical, dentist, and 401k contributions, they bring home 1,000 every two weeks. 2 grand a month is not a lot even for Florida. However most think they are rich. So ridiculous.
obvious she had not the slightest clue how to lead a classroom
its not the kids fault- its here fault
It may take awhile, but I think “government schools” in the future will be used to warehouse incorrigible kids (as prep for their stay in prison) and also some special needs kids (hopefully well separated from the incorrigibles).
I think the vast majority of Americans all send their kids to private schools. If the kid causes trouble, he or she will be out on their ear and shopping for a new private school. Hopelessly bad kids will end up in government schools.
The public school system in the country is a lost cause. A lot of people may say, “Maybe where you live, but MY town has an excellent school system!” I would put forth the theory that your local school system is not anywhere near as good as you think it is.
My catholic school pays teachers with prayers and holy cards.
Do you have a texas ping? anyone?
