Boston, other marathons say trans women can compete as women

In 1967, a Boston Marathon official nearly dragged a woman off the course after she managed to enter the men's-only race. Five decades later, race officials aren't as concerned about gender boundaries: They're now publicly acknowledging that transgender runners can compete using the gender they identify with.

"We take people at their word. We register people as they specify themselves to be," said Tom Grilk, chief of the Boston Athletic Association, the group behind the race. "Members of the LGBT community have had a lot to deal with over the years, and we'd rather not add to that burden."

So you know, there is a huge ongoing social war with those who are supportive of "Female from birth" feminists and "support anyone who claims to be a woman, whether they have XX or XY chromosomes." The progressives who support those people who aren't XX women call the others TERFS - trans-exclusionary radical feminists. The dividing line is whether those poor unfortunate souls who think they are but their bodies aren't are enabled rather than offered extensive help.

The younger generations are in the middle of this fight and under the radar of most.

And the progressive feminists who embrace and endorse those who are not-women are corrupting Title IX because they support those who think they are but genetically aren't.

It truly is pandora's box when it comes to women's athletics. I already know there are biological differences, including lung capacity, testosterone levels, and density of muscle fibers - so those athletic pursuits that depend on such will have a huge advantage.

Personally I think that it should be the Top tier and then second-grade tier. Of course women's athletics would disappear quickly under the spaghetti mess of Title IX with these endorsements - but I don't think most guys care whether women play sports unless it's beach volleyball.

it would be interesting to see the Kenyans and other Africans sue, and sue big time, if they loose to one of these trannies, because as I understand it, winning marathons is BIG in Africa, for the runners and their families but also for national pride...

I feel sorry for people who are so emotionally unhinged that they can't see what they are, the good and the bad, etc...

but somebody someday has to tell them to live their lives as they were born, period....

I can almost predict that there will be tremendous efforts on the parts of some countries to have boys become "girls" just so that country can win in the Olympics...

eg...figure skating is now more concerned with an athletic move over an asthetic move, or gracefulness....they're preparing us to have slightly built men to skate in the womens division....mark my words...
