In this eye opening and informative video we see how felines have taken over not only the Internet, but our homes, and of course, our lives. It points out that it is us that are obsessed with cats and not the other way round. This is a must see for any cat lover as it explains a lot about our relationship with cats and how that relationship has evolved.
I believe it.
Ya don’t mess wit da kitty!
I have no problem with ‘factual’, but you’ll notice the very first post on the thread was, “I hate cats.” And several others made jokes about how they taste. Okay, so why did you look at the article?
I’ve lived with cats, horses & sundry other critters all my life. Yes, there is instinct. But animals are also emotional beings. They have varying levels of intelligence & also form strong bonds of love/friendship. There’s always an inclination to find a reason why animals became domesticated, or have this or that instinct, & humans love to hypothesize. Bottom line: most any animal can become a loving companion if treated well, & cats more so than others.
You can pretty much tell what is out there by his tone. His most savage tone is reserved for coyotes. The neighbor's dog is mostly ignored although his head will go up.
Get real. I’m a dog person to the end. I may hate this cat or that cat, but not the whole housecat species.
I do like the cat who was trained to pee and poop in the toilet.
“Beagles for me, no cats no time.”
You can always tell if someone has Beagles. Their house smells like wet dog, even when they’re clean!
I do like them though!
My cat was a feral 18 oz kitten that my Brittany had pinned in a corner of my yard. I removed her from the situation. The local animal humane group wouldnt take her till she was 2 lbs. by that time she was having the run of the house. We kept her. She wont plop down in your lap. She will sit on an arm of a chair next to you. I have up to three dogs in the house at any time. They ignore each other.
Shes ok. But if something happened and she was gone. I wouldnt replace her.
“Cats pee and poop in the house. My dog has the sense to go outside.”
Just clean the litter every day. You pee and poop in your house too! I am amused by people walking their Cockapoos in minus 20 degree weather. And if they don’t pick it up, I give them Hell!
We have four of them, all rescues...
Sophie (daddy’s girl) - 14 years old
Mama Kitty (retired farm cat)- 7 years old
Callie (cat w 3 legs) - 2 years old
Hamilton (wild and crazy) - 5 months old
Looked at the article as a trained professional/clinical. Always amusing the amount of money people will spend to entertain their anthropomorphism. Farming people see animals differently as do hunters. Realistically that is, and as a human not wont to put “emotions” into domesticated animals, and certainly never into wild ones. Nature is cruel, as is man, with the only distinguishing factor that man’s spiritual awareness tries (tries, mind you) to damp down what would in a non-domesticated human be..... animal behaviour. Looking at this from purely biochemistry/veterinary/clinical background, and rural farming point of view. There certainly is value in furry kitties and doggies used in therapeutic settings which reduce anxiety, blood pressure and harmful biomarkers- due to the very human emotional bonding to animals.
I don't pee and poop in a box, that someone else has to clean out.
I figure ours are friends until they get hungry.
Unless you have to get a septic tank pumped
I, for one, welcome our feline overlords!
You scrub your own toilet!
Dude, good for you! 😸
Not if you get them the kind of litter they prefer and keep it scooped regularly.
I take it your wife has to clean the toilets, do the laundry, load the dishwasher and mow the grass at your house? :-)
Your comment makes no sense at all. Cats pee and poop in a box that needs to be cleaned by someone other than the cat. I clean toilets and do laundry, and do the dishes.
Your cat just makes messes in a box that stinks the house.
