DH was a jeweler at one point. We had a fume hood w/glove box and eye station. He was working w/titanium, used a dilute nitric & HF combo to etch. Never had an accident....it made me very nervous though.

Muriatic is scary...it’ll *steam* if you open a large container in a cold space. I use gloves, a Pyrex measure and am very careful, acid at arm’s length, head turned a bit, use peripheral vision. But, I think it isn’t used to dissolve bodies, just to lower pH. We all watch too much TV.
