Do Any Freepers Play Bridge?

Are there any Freepers who participate in the great American game of Bridge? I'm taking lessons, and it appears it's mostly retirees who play. My parents played their whole lives, and it used to be a very popular game for people from teens to the elderly. I'm just wondering whether the game's dying out along with its increasingly gray-haired adherents.

I played for a while; it is the most challenging card game out there...once you understand the bidding.
I stopped when my father died; he was a riot to play bridge with.

I’ve always thought of Spades as Bridge’s little cousin. I play cribbage, too.

Yes, I think Spades is a derivative of Bridge. You just bit books instead of trump................

I’ve always wanted to learn Bridge. My Mom played it and I have an aunt and cousin who played as well. I haven’t been able to get my head wrapped around the game though.
I do play Euchre (had to learn as my wife is from Michigan), Hand and Foot (Canasta), Hearts, and Spite and Malice.

I can’t afford the Trans Am and subsequent medical care to play a little bridge.

I like Cribbage. I think of Euchre as Bridge-lite since the reduced number of cards used seems to simplify things.
My paternal grandparents used to play Pinochle, but I’ve never tried that game.

I was surprised to find out there’s a Bridge Center in my town where lessons and games go on 6 days per week. I’m hoping to get my sister and sister-in-law interested, but I’m not sure that’ll be successful.

Pinochle is fun, but no one plays it as it is in Hoyle or Skarn. And everyone seems to play it a bit differently.

I learned how to play bridge from computer programs and reading books about it.
When my wife and I were on the Queen Mary 2, traveling from New York to Southampton and return, I played bridge for two hours every day and discovered that I really enjoyed it ... I also found that I was pretty good at it as well ...

Ive always thought of Spades as Bridges little cousin. I play cribbage, tooEuchre is another "little cousin." I play it well; Bridge? Not so well! And you're right, I think it's now dominated by older folks.

I used to play weekly. There is no card game compared to it. It was uniquely fun and challengeing.

I used to belong to a chess club. One day three of the members showed up at my house and said they were going to make a bridge player out of me.
Amazingly, they succeeded.
