Vermont has passed a gun control bill in both its Senate and House. The House version has a magazine capacity ban, limiting all mags to 10 rounds. This includes not just detachable mags, but fixed tube mags as well, such as those seen on 22 lever action rifles and pump shotguns.

The Senate version does not have the magazine ban, and so has to go to some kind of conference committee to hammer out the details. We need the Senate to reject the magazine capacity ban.

Vermont's economy is based heavily on tourism. They are also having some issues with people leaving the state. Tell the legislators and the governor that you're not going to travel in Vermont if they violate their own people's rights so cavalierly.

Also let the governor know he should reverse his betrayal and veto the bill.

Too bad. Vermont was a libertarian state for ages. It’s shifting Leftward as more and more Massholes move in.

A clear Violation of the Commerce Clause, I’m sure Sessions is preparing a lawsuit right now to have all these unconstitutional gun laws across the country voided for interfering with “Interstate Commerce”. If he ever wakes up that is.

Don’t live in Vermont, else I would. My biggest complaint is that all these infringements need to be thrown out by the courts and if they want to rewrite and propose repeal or amendment of the constitution, do so. Don’t infringe upon it.

Does this pertain to the lever action rifles like the Henry? The article says it does, but isn’t exactly clear either.

They hold ten rounds in the tube, though 11 total rounds if there’s one in the chamber. Is it their intent to ban Henry lever action rifles?? Also the term “high capacity magazine” is sort of misleading in that there isn’t really such a thing as a “low capacity magazine”; the idea here seems to be banning any firearm that has a magazine of any capacity.

I’m thinking if I convert my ar to 458 socom, my mags will all be compliant.

That wasn’t my goal but there it is.

We need to ban high-capacity news. When the constitution was created there was manual printing presses. High-capacity news is dangerous and no-one should be able to watch it.

The venerable Marlin 60 (arguably the most popular .22) tubular internal magazine held 18 rounds from 1960 to about 1990 when they cut the magazine down to 14.

Are they all going to illegal?

With real estate taxes so high on non resident owners, it’s a wonder to me why anyone would ever go back to Vermont. Real Vermonters have always been liberals, with a social contract with the Yankees and their love of guns. The real Yankees are almost gone. And the gun laws will go with them.

The upside is they hardly have any cops.

People should explain and illustrate that magazine capacity has no bearing on one’s ability to fire more than 10 rounds, or in the case of a 1911,7 rounds. Anyone can perform a magazine change in under two seconds. Take a look...

Ask the governor if he read his history books? “Those who cannot learn from history, are doomed to repeat it.”

Was easy to paste your row of contacts into one email.
I told them “you pass this and this family won’t be visiting Vermont anymore”

took 5 seconds to do, go for it.
