A public school body and families are, for all practical purposes, lobbying Washington, D.C. to recognize they PRAY for intervention in their lives.

So should I be allowed to pray? Or is this only for the liberal agenda that I should pray. If the latter is true, then it’s hypocrisy as far as I can tell.
To: knarf
What the hell?........
The “gubmint” lets the damn Muslimes have their “prayers”. either eliminate ALL PRAYING or allow Christians to also pray. Until then, we see the gubmint’s double standard.

Public school students are in Washington praying for Congress to DO something about their public school condition(s)
Re-instate school prayer.
That's all this is ... a demand for prayer to be recognized as a VALID WAY TO ACCOMPLISH AN END.
After I give thanks, that's pretty much why I pray as well.

But not recognized in a public school.
It's "allowed" under a ton of conditions.
I see this as a national call for prayer in public schools to be accepted (and re-instated)

I don’t need any recognition by any public anything to pray. It is between God and me.

Now where have I seen images of gun-grabbing socialists with flickering lights, whipping themselves into a quasi-religious campaign against others, massed in public spaces featuring large, red vertical visuals... and lots of carefully coordinated reporting...
Hmmm... trying to think...

We are really in rough shape if, here in FREEREPUBLIC, we critique a call to reverse a Satanic element in our midst (91% of ALL high school grads .. of the native born population .. are public school).
I should go look at everyone's posting history and see if I can find any comment that says something like ..
"This all started when they took prayer out of the schools"

I believe this did all start going downhill when prayer was taken out of schools.
I also don’t need any permission to pray.
The two aren’t mutually exclusive.

Quite the opposite.

It shouldn’t even be controversial.
It is free speech, not a separation of church and state issue. At least it should be.
Some will be be praying to Satan though.
That is how far we have fallen.

You should attend a school board meeting ... you can't start a school board meeting with prayer.
If prayer was so prevalent and practiced, why are we in such poor spiritual shape?
Why have we allowed non Christians to make the laws ?
Why are the kids so f'd up that they have twisted thoughts about sex, religion, Americanism and a ton of OTHER things we here in FR (seemingly) take for granted ?
Why does FR exist if not to discuss and hopefully correct the wrongs in our nation ?

What are they going to do about all of the various religions now in place here in America? Have different and diverse prayers all day long in order to satisfy ALL religions present in their schools? Which is the RIGHT prayer that satisfies all religions and non-religions? We are speaking of a “minefield” of potential lawsuits based upon freedom of speech and the establishment of a single national religion here. How about the agnostics and atheists? Are they considered some type of religion? How would that be handled? In all, it is not a good idea.

Detonate the mines.
That's OUR job.
We have the imprimatur of the President of The United States.
We should be emboldened, not cowered.
