Probably no connection. I found this on Wikipedia for Ft. Marcy Park:
The fort was not completed until the fall of 1862. It is a relatively undisturbed fort and was named in honor of a native of Massachusetts, Randolph B. Marcy, a distinguished soldier, father-in-law, and chief of staff to General George B. McClellan
Thanks for that history on Ft Marcy. It was an idle wonder on my part, and the genealogy would probably have to be researched, which is not my area of expertise.
It’s just that sometimes someone becomes prominent, and then the posterity gets caught up in the wringer of the Entitled.
