Republicans can in fact play this game. Choosing not to do so out of humility and/or restraint is not the same as being incapable.
There is no logic, and it's not going to wash. If this were allowed, then presidents would spend all their time defending themselves from frivolous lawsuits filed in state courts rather than governing. Soon grown-ups will become involved, rather than Trump-hating, frothing at the mouth lesbian judges.

Sounds like a female NY judge with a case of red@$$ against Trump. Likewise, if the person administering the polygraph to Stormy Whutzerface has ill will toward Trump; why, OF COURSE she “passed” the test. The FBI lies. The DOJ lies. Show us PROOF that she passed. And then I still will probably doubt it’s legit.
I do not care either, and; frankly, no man I know, especially all married types, would dare have sex with any porn type for fear of DISEASE. I suspect her encounter with Trump was one she staged complete with camera. To cut to the chase, if she had any real legal case-why did she settle for 120K or so with a billionaire? After the attorney got his 33 1/3% to 50%, with the higher fee being for those with little up front cash/ability to pay- she got well under 80K max. Now you are a married billionaire and some porn type manages to get one on one with you and has a photo. 123K is fraction of a percent to Trump.
Should ask SCOTUS for immediate, expedited review as national security is at stake.
