Yep, the first step in seizing retirement accounts. Two years ago, the U.S. Department of Labor and the Treasury Department held joint hearings on whether government lifetime annuity options funded by U.S. Treasury debt should be required for private retirement accounts, including IRAs and 401(k) plans.
From that hearing:
A representative of the liberal Pension Rights Center, Rebecca Davis, testified that the government needs to get involved because 401k plans and IRAs are unfair to poor people. She demanded the Obama administration set up a “government-sponsored program administered by the PBGC (the governments’ Pension Benefit Guarantee Corporation).” She proclaimed that even “private annuities are problematic.”
Such “reforms” would effectively end private retirement accounts in America, Crone warns. “These people want the government to require that ultimately all Americans buy these government annuities instead of saving or investing on their own. The Government could then take these trillions of dollars and redistribute it through this new national retirement system.”

Absolutely I believe Jared is largely responsible for turning the MD around. It sure wan’t Tillerson. In fact, Tillerson was pissed and grumbly about it. But Rex was told to basically stay out of the ME.

Quick story......my last nine years of my employment were at my company's corporate headquarters in Troy, MI. I worked in the benefits area dealing with union pensions and health care benefits. My manager was an unmarried, jaded woman who once had an affair with a corporate executive and was definitely anti-male. She also refused to shop at local store outlets and instead chose upscale stores such as Nordstrom.
2005, my last Christmas in the corporate dungeon, while all the other department managers were taking their employees out to lunch at various restaurants around the area, my Queen catered our Christmas luncheon for us 5 employees with delivered Jimmy Johns sandwiches...........LOL!
For her and the rest of the corporate managers, Christmas bonuses were a minimum of 10% of their annual salary........And all we got were Jimmy Johns..........
Yeah, and before that he had his publicists giving him credit for Trump’s election.
I don’t buy it—he’s been nothing but a screw-up like his corrupt dad so far. E.g., his signature purchase, his ‘666’ building was probably the worst RE deal in NYC history. He bought a decent little newspaper and ran it into the ground.
Trump was courted as a candidate by a very sophisticated group of military generals, intelligence folks, etc. It is highly likely that the broader puzzle they are trying to put together in the Middle East — which, such as with SA offers the carrot of economic development for political/military reform — was a carefully devised strategic that little Jared had nothing to do with — other than his family ties to Bibi and showing up for some meetings.
