Wait, I thought Lowes is leaving not Jimmie............You're not mistaken. Jimmie is not leaving the team.
I've been a fan of Jimmie's since his head-on crash into the outside turn-1 wall at the Glen in 2000 when he clambered out of the car, then stood on the roof in triumph.

This is not bye-bye Jimmy Johnson. It is anything but that. Lowes has spent $200 million and is hardly made a penny back on that investment. Im surprised they stayed in this long. Jimmy Johnson will stay in the sport and someone else will come in the throwaway tens of millions of dollars.
To: Red Badger
Lowes has terminated the contract with Hendricks Motor Sports.
Johnson has a contract with Hendricks thru 2020. So depending
upon contractual language we’ll see how it all plays out. My
guess Hendricks will find another major sponsor and Johnson
will be included.

Sponsorship has become a BIG problem for NASCAR.
Last season they dropped the max field from 43 to 40 because of the lack of sponsors.
Now with the 2018 season only four races old, the 40 car max was attained ONLY at Daytona. Phoenix managed 37 and Atlanta and Vegas could only field 36 each.
It seems as if intererst in NASCAR in general has waned greatly. YAHOO dropped it from their fantasy leagues. A couple of years ago it had about 2 million participants...last year less then 700K.
And then there are all the empty seats.....

Those empty seats are courtesy of brainless france.
Big Bill would be giving that punk a backhand if He were still with Us.
JR retiring last season will probably be the death roll for NUTSCAR.
It’ll be interesting to see what ‘dega looks like...

Oh and P.S.:
Jimmie Johnson is a class act and a great racer. Hendrick and other Chev teams are having to learn a brand new car this season.
