Lowes isn’t getting its return on advertising investment any more.
Poor Jimmie Johnson. No luck at all this year. Over the Hill?
This is not bye-bye Jimmy Johnson. It is anything but that. Lowes has spent $200 million and is hardly made a penny back on that investment. I’m surprised they stayed in this long. Jimmy Johnson will stay in the sport and someone else will come in the throwaway tens of millions of dollars.
Sponsorship has become a BIG problem for NASCAR.
Last season they dropped the max field from 43 to 40 because of the lack of sponsors.
Now with the 2018 season only four races old, the 40 car max was attained ONLY at Daytona. Phoenix managed 37 and Atlanta and Vegas could only field 36 each.
It seems as if intererst in NASCAR in general has waned greatly. YAHOO dropped it from their fantasy leagues. A couple of years ago it had about 2 million participants...last year less then 700K.
And then there are all the empty seats.....
NASCAR has committed death by tinkering.
They had a tremendous model, and fan following, which they destroyed, by standardizing cars, restricting innovative engineering, and the worst of them all....
These ridiculous heat races and non spectacular feature laps.
A 500 mile race should be a 500 mile race. JMHO
