Biggest Mistake EVER, President Trump. EVER.
Original content | 3/11/2018 | By Laz A. Mataz

NOBODY, and I mean NOBODY could ever call me a Never Trumper. In fact, I was perhaps one of the very first Trump supporters on this forum.

However, by using his Executive Order to ban bump-stocks as machine guns -- despite the fact that they STILL PULL ONE TRIGGER FOR ONE ROUND BEING FIRED -- he has just done something in an extra-judicial manner.

Despite the clear language of the law that defines automatic weapons -- that one trigger pull discharges multiple rounds continuously -- his EO causes the language to be ignored.

Now, I get that Trump bashed the NRA, then met with them the next day. I get that. That’s chicken feed for the liberals and RINOs.

BUT

Trump banned bump stocks pretty much by Executive Order.

DO YOU REALIZE WHAT THAT MEANS?

It means the first Democrat who gets elected will ban ALL SEMIAUTOS by Executive Order. All they have to do, with this precedent, is show someone firing a semi-auto in a bump-fire method using a pants belt-loop. Voila: It's a full-auto. Therefore, it can be EO'd away.

The right thing to have done was to encourage / demand the House give him a bump stock ban bill. Then get it through the Senate. Then sign it.

But by doing what he just did, he made it possible for Dems to EO firearms away.

“Executive orders are not enforceable laws, and they only directly affect government workers. They do not rewrite law.”

That’s a rather ignorant statement. They do affect all of us when the law allows the president to define something he can define it and it affects you.

I know what you said sounds good to the idiots on the Internet, but is simply isn’t true.

Laz,

I hope that there is a “4D chess” angle here that I can’t identified,. If not this is a mis-step and an incremental loss further sliding down the hill in the long erosion of it 2A rights that started back in the 1800s.

The FF never intended there to be ANY circumstance where it was ok to restrict ANY weapon shoulder fired, crew served, cannon, and they meant ANY; then there is no true 2A protection for anything, just temporary allowance by the political machine. Gd granted the “rights” on man, the Constitution and the bill of Rights meerly affirm that truth. Kinda like the truth Laz illustrated with the photo. If self describing conservatives would “hit it” more often they wouldn’t be getting out paced by the opposition in generating offspring, or at least out of practice ;)

You are going to lose every sane person with that argument. We can argue about where the proper boundary is, but no sane person would extend the RKBA to privately owned nuclear weapons, and we are all better off that the Clintons and Soroses don't have their own private stockpile.

Virtually no one would support privately owned shoulder fired anti-aircraft weapons, or howitzers.

In fact most people have been quite comfortable with drawing the line at automatic weapons.

There is a clear distinction between weapons for hobbies, hunting or self-defense and weapons of mass slaughter, and the problem with arguing for bump-stocks is that they have clearly crossed the line into mass slaughter.

You’re missing the ‘where does it end’ point.

Not really. In your hyper ventilation about bump stocks you are forgetting A LOT of Democrats own guns. And because of this fantasy of Democrats banning all guns will NEVER HAPPEN.

Andy,
“PROPER boundary”? You sleep soundly because there are deplorables willing to do dirty deeds in the dark.

The founding fathers are glad “sane” people were not around to prevent them from purchasing cannons and cannon carrying ships they used to secure the freedom of this great country that far too few are willing to protect from within.
This country exists because they disagreed and they were willing to fight. Nuclear weapons are regulated from contains radioactive material, not because they are a weapon.

I am done attempting to convince sane persons. Those are the same persons who admit that if it had been someone others than Clinton, it would had gotten them in jail, so they’re is no talking reason re: ANY subject w/ them. And having any conversation period. When conservative are unreasonable. It’s hard enough to find conservative ones’ willing to act.

My only wonder will be how long it takes for them to convince to turn each other in for a temporary pass.
If the all the Jews would have gotten involved early on they would have had a chance. Most waited, and were doomed to failure for not having enough to mount a formidable resistance.

Erosion had that effect.

The Grand canyon would not exist had someone gotten involved and turned off the water hose early enough. Plenty stood by and said to each other “it’s a reasonable amount of water”, “it’s not bad enough for me to be bothered to get involved, yet”. And now look what is in the back yard, you’re not taking care of that mishap on a weekend off.

This country will die its death because “good” people stood by, and did nothing.

"Virtually no one would support privately owned shoulder fired anti-aircraft weapons, or howitzers."

And yet that is exactly what the US supplied to Afghans to rid their country of the Soviets some years ago.

If Americans were beset by a similar enemy with total control of the air, that is exactly what we would seek and perhaps then a consensus would arise that the possession of such weapons is most certainly protected by the Second Amendment.

As for nuclear weapons, there is always the amendment process to change the Bill of Rights. If it took a nuclear weapon to free me and my loved ones from a tyrant, I would be completely justified in using it.

Our Founders would probably be very surprised that free people are so consistently allowing the government to mandate compulsory "education" at government schools and then are unwilling to protect those students as if they were their own children. That is government tyranny.

For sale everywhere. Google them. I saw them a few weeks ago. Not sure how or why manufacturers or buyers think they need them.

everyone's looking to hop up their AR. Myself, accuracy matters and that extra round that popped off is just wasted money.

Aren’t these things bad for/abusive to the gun itself?

Wouldn’t forcing it to fire at a rate it wasn’t intended cause a variety of problems - if not become downright dangerous to the operator?

Looking for a silver lining, I guess.

“President Trump, protecting guns from abuse”

Those guns will last a lot longer now!

You’re a traitor to Trump. You probably always were. He does everything for this country, and then you turn on him. Dang.

That is Trump's perception, not necessarily ours...I understand that Trump's position is that everything is negotiable...But that's not acceptable when it comes to the Constitution and Bill of Rights...

The term shall also include the frame or receiver of any such weapon, any part designed and intended solely and exclusively, or combination of parts designed and intended, for use in converting a weapon into a machinegun

The Slide Fire stock is designed to convert a semi-automatic rifle to perform like an automatic rifle, period. No, it does not operate like an auto sear, but it is designed solely and exclusively to make the weapon operate like a machinegun. That the designer used a different approach to achieve the high rate of fire is not going to matter to a judge.

As I said earlier in this thread, I think automatic rifles should be legal, but that is not the law. This EO is following the spirit, if not the letter of the law.

Maybe President Trump should spend some time watching youtube videos on bump stocks and how to simulate one.

Oh good grief. 99.9999% of the population will not go where you are trying to go - unbanning privately owned nuclear weapons. You two are totally and utterly nuts.
