Agree. But judging by a self produced 1st album is ignoring how the industry works. There is a long long line of people with lousy selling first albums.

There is a long long line of people with lousy selling first albums.True. It seems like if the singer doesn't have a label behind them, promotion, etc., it's very difficult to sell much.
I wonder if Maddie's first album is selling now, though. I recall Taylor Hicks's first album was selling for hundreds of dollars on websites when he was competing on Idol.

Those stubborn ol' viewers will vote the way they want no matter how much the judges try to sway them. I remember one year (not sure which year, but I know Jennifer Lopez was one of the judges,) they actually scolded the viewers for "voting wrong."
And back during the Minaj season they even rigged it so the boys in the "top 10" would be weaker than the girls, insuring a girl would win. Can't even remember who that was now.
