If I understand it correctly, your thesis is Ambrosia's sentiments of sadness that so many men now think marriage is evil, and all women are money grubbers, is NOT fueled by a plan to eviscerate traditional masculinity, but due to there being no societal controls on "the natural provlivity of women to vanity and duplicity."

Put aside for a moment, whether or not we are all hard-wired that way. The attendant proclivities of both sexes you list have been around since Original Sin (or since man climbed from the primordial soup for non-believers) and we got along pretty well for centuries with the attendant controls (or lack thereof). What remedy do you believe NOW is needed to TRULY force women to live by the same rules as men?

It used to be that women had a harder time divorce-raping the guy. If she was unhaaapy, she could walk out without his assets. This meant that fewer women tried the divorce route.
