I thought they said oregano.
the wailing of some strange creature or entity like a ghost or Sasquatch
That, and his South American cousin the Yeti, is a myth, much like shiks-appeal.

...a faulty valve within an HVAC (or heat pump) unit.

We have a guest bathroom that is used fewer than 40 times a year. A few years ago, after I had finished cleaning the tub, I heard a dog howling. Sounded like a Basset hound. I looked outside fully expecting to see a dog in the back yard and very close to the house, but there was none.
The husband was out working in the yard. I went out and asked him if he had heard the dog. He had not.
After I went back upstairs, I realized, upon hearing the “dog” again, that the sound was actually emanating from a pipe in the shower. So strange. I suppose some air had gotten caught in the line. Have never heard it again.

I remember walking through the woods late at on my way home with a buddy of mine, I guess when I was around 10 years old. It was absolutely quiet and darker than the inside of a cow.
Then a screech owl decided it might be fun to let us know that he was around. It was the first time that either of us ever heard one.
The words "frozen in terror" come to mind. We hugged each other like Shaggy and Scooby.
Damn, it sure is funny forty or so years later. But I about sperlt mah britches back then.

That story/TV short terrified me when I was young. I had nightmares for days after seeing it on TV.

Leftards screeching into space reflecting back at them. Leftards are bad for the environment.
Leftards cause hearing loss.
Women and children hardest hit.
