I was able to follow your links and was able to see close-up pix of both the 2000 and the 2008 and 2009 examples.
I did not see a difference. I’m sure that you have seen it, but I have somehow missed what you have found.

It’s kind of hard to see, but the 2007 coin has a capital ‘U’ in ‘UNITED STATES...’ while the 2008 coin has a little tail on the ‘u’ for the same word. The reason it’s hard to see is that the size of the ‘u’ remains as big as the ‘N’ beside it. Hope that helps.
Probably because I was a retard and said obverse (front) instead of reverse (back) and its on the back. Its the U vs u in United with the 2008 and later having a u thats the same size but with the little leg on the right.
Sorry for having you goose chasing :-). Oh, when you click on the link to the individual coin and pics, if you click on the pic it will expand in the screen and on a smart phone you can finger spread it to expand it. Hope that gets you on right track.
