Hello, all.
I'm no stranger to shooting. I hunted for small game, growing up, I qualified, in the Army, as an "Expert" rifleman, and I occasionally take the family out shooting now.
Though I was an Expert in the Army, that shooting was limited to 300 yards, and since I was in the Signal Corps, I really only shot once per year to retain my qualification.
I've recently become interested in long range shooting. I've been looking at optics that would lend themselves to that pursuit. I know that brands like Leupold and Nightforce are the heavy-hitters in this arena, but they are WAY too expensive to justify their price for a hobbyist.
Looking around the optics and long-range shooting forums, there are many "Optics Snobs" that will bad-mouth any brand other than the big, expensive dogs in show and dismiss the other brands out-of-hand.
My question, finally, is: Have any of you ever shot with "Monstrum" brand optics, and if so, what is your opinion of them?
They are Chinese made brands, so there is a black mark against them to begin with, but people who have actually used them have expressed surprise at how much quality and performance they provide for the price you pay.
Awesome ..... to see the black magic of the martial art of precision long range shooting come full circle just gives me a warm fuzzy feeling.....
Berger just moved out of Kalipornia to Arizona !

They also purchased Applied Ballistics Munitions and its Berger Ammunition now. That is badass now the Berger has gone from components only to full up perfection ammunition.

They are solid as a rock with good hands on lessons and skill sets ...... PRB is the best web page for info, Snipers Hide is 2nd on my web page list and Hodnett and Tubb’s are the best instructors I’ve been lucky to be around......
You can spend 16 hours a day reading Cal Zants PRB page and lose a few months binge reading.....
Stay Safe.
Yer welcome ....stay safe !
Hope yer well Bub !
My $.02 on optics is that much of the cost of optics relates to critical quality control and assembly. The lower cost manufacturers don’t know if their optics are perfect or perfectly assembled because they don’t or can’t measure them. And, with optics, some will be perfect, some not. Spending time and putting marks on a scope bench testing is not a choice for a $500 product. Their budget for QC on each scope will be pennies. Look in the box may be the extent of it.
So they spec it with a Pacific Rim manufacturer and it comes assembled. Was it made to spec? Sometimes. Check it out and send it back until you get one you like.
I looked around some and it looks pretty good. They do a poor job though of describing their bullets construction/performance.
Berger ??? Look at theyre VLD hybrids .... when I get home I will send ya a link. Hate using a phone to post and drive 120mph with a beer between my legs .

Surf the “information” tab at the top of the page for lots of data on Berger’s designs etcetera . Been sold on em for a very long time.
Sorry I was late getting back to ya on this data. Start with the “Line and Designs” link and then the “Tech Talk” link and I think you’ll find what your looking for.
Stay Safe Bub.
Thanks. I’ll look through that.
Actually I thought Berger was mostly lead free range bullets so I never paid any attention to ‘em.
