Box Office Poison: Jennifer Lawrence’s ‘Red Sparrow’ Bottoms Out at $17 Million
Breitbart ^ | March 3, 2018 | John Nolte

Jennifer Lawrence’s big-budget Red Sparrow is underperforming big time at the box office. Already-modest predictions called for a $20 million opening. As of now, it looks like $17 million, which is a disaster for a product that, with promotion and advertising, cost in the neighborhood of $120 million. This is also another disaster for Lawrence, whose star has declined swiftly since she revealed herself to be an anti-Christian bigot and a divisive, mean-spirited, left-wing jerk.

Her last big film, mother!, opened on 2400 screens to just $7.5 million. Prior to that, even with Chris Pratt on the poster, Passengers couldn’t open to $15 million. Hollywood should have taken notice of Lawrence’s career decline when her last two Hunger Games sequels opened to much lower numbers than the previous two, which is the exact opposite of what happened with Harry Potter and Twilight.

#71 I guess this is “acting” or maybe re-creating an audition for a Hollywood producer....

A person who pretends to have virtues, moral or religious beliefs, principles, etc., that he or she does not actually possess, especially a person whose actions belie stated beliefs.

Isn't that exactly what actors do ?

The word hypocrite is rooted in the Greek word hypokrites, which means “stage actor, pretender, dissembler.”

Yep. She started out in her career a Kentucky girl who grew up hunting small game and shooting guns. She actually seemed like a normal person, a "red state" celebrity we could appreciate.

She was great in WINTER'S BONE. She was tomboyish, but feminine.

It's really a shame to see her drink the Kool Aid. She may be entitled to her political views, but I don't have to hear them.

I hate to rejoice over anyone's downfall ("There but for the grace of God go I"), but I feel so much hate now for anyone who puts down conservative values.

I saw it, and thought it was a pretty good spy vs. spy movie.

Of course, I don’t know anything about Jennifer Lawrence.

But if she was the lead actress in this movie, she was pretty good.
