The California Highway Patrol has resorted to using decoy buses to catch the culprit behind a string of BB gun shootings at charter buses carrying Apple and Google employees.
The news was first reported by ABC7.
CHP officer John Fransen told Business Insider the department will be using decoy buses to draw fire from the shooter. Since January, there have at least been 20 shootings at charter buses in the Bay Area, including five used by Apple and Google employees who commute. The FBI is also helping with the case, Fransen said.
The shooter used a pellet gun, which fires metal balls, better known as "BBs."

Sir Mix-A-Lot?
Journalists think they need to do tardsplaining. Because we common folk are idiots compared to their mighty intellects.
“People tolerated eachother and we all grew up just fine.”
Those who did not grow up, died in their childhood.
Dear ABC7
Why is it called a PELLET gun?
Why broadcast your plan to catch a criminal to the whole world? Or are they just bluffing?
My grandmother once told me about how she and her siblings would have BB gun fights when they were kids. After the fights they would have to pick the BBs out of their skin.
I think some modern air rifles can probably shoot a pellet fast enough that one would not want to use it as a toy.
Some can hit 1000 fps. Would not want to take a pellet at that speed. Might as well be a subsonic .22.
Sling shots can use BBs......
Oh where will this lead.
Now if we can only convince the CIA monarchs into using BB guns!
Air rifles are available in single, semi auto and full auto, the latter up to at least 9mm now, and you can also silence them to a bare puff.
People hunt buffalo with them.
The shooter could graduate from BB to .223 at any time!/S
Rachel, you're an idiot.
Turn in your keyboard and be out of town by sundown.
Use the PHB’s self defense combo of yoga, feng shui, and Irish dancing.
I was going to comment but thought I’d check first. How do these people function in real life?
The response time on the 105 may be a bit slow for this application.
As much as I have appreciated their service in the past, something with a higher cyclic rate may provide better service.
No need to have it in the vehicle. A hunter-killer team may be the ticket.
I would suggest a Cobra Gunship.

Not ONE person from my neighborhood died in their childhood——not one.

Tardsplaining, that is a new word to me, LOL. It does describe the situation perfectly.
better yet, use Q-buses which have sides that drop down and shoot back ...
